"The minimum wage has not changed since 2009.

In 2021, Congress voted on a bill to raise the minimum wage.
- Passed 231-199 in the House
Opposed: 192 Rs, 8 Ds + one I. Three Rs supported.
- Blocked 58-42 in the Senate
7 Ds and one I joined all Rs to block the bill.
What am I missing in whats wrong with her post? Other than her lack of any basic economic understanding?
The minimum wage generally has every little to do with WHO is living paycheck to paycheck. People making the minimum wage are usually younger and either just entering the workforce and have few real world skills. Of course they would not be paid much.
If you are 30 years old and pulling down minimum wage then the question really is "why haven't you developed any marketable skills over the course of a decade?
I know couples making 200k living paycheck to paycheck because their spending exceeds their income.
Once again- this is not a "your not making enough money" problem.
This is a spending problem.
I get all that. I guess "oops" doesn't really fit that sort of rebuke for me like she made some obvious error and stepped into some hypocrisy beartrap. But I'm being pedantic on a meme thread and love anyone pointing out her idiocy.
