For a guy who made his reputation as a fierce defender against public corruption, what a let down.

I am more convinced than ever that this notion of American citizens having a political choice is just an illusion.

The intelligence agencies are steering this ship.

We afforded them unlimited power to protect us against terroristic attacks following 9/11, without ever considering the possibility they would use it against us. And it won't matter if Trump is reelected again in 2024 or not. We've seen their playbook. They win.

Americans don't want freedom and liberty. They want fast internet and loan forgiveness.

True but the outcome was inevitable once biden won the election. Garland was never going to let Durham or anyone else take down the dem machine. I assumed some kind of agreement was in place between Durham and garland about how far this investigation would go and I'm surprised it went this far. Still, even knowing that, I found myself still hoping......

The one good thing to come out of Durham is the testimony from Robbie Meeks that the Russian disinfo was the work of the Clinton campaign. Unfortunately, the media would never report that so very few people are aware. Trump really did get screwed.

At this point, any little hope I had is gone. Durham is nothing more than a tool to "pretend" to fight the corruption while running full cover. Midterms will be ripe with "flaws" and any gains will not be enough to stop 2 more years of this. The alphabet agencies are fully politicized and mobilized and fully emboldened. By the end of the 2024 election cycle it will likely all be lost.

2024 plays out one of two ways. Trump stays out of jail, is the nominee, and our CM's with TDS will bite off their nose to spite their faces AGAIN, or Trump gets taken out by the deep state and the propaganda arm goes full force to make any republican candidate DOA.

I agree, but would note some distrust for the article's accuracy, as it is from the NYT.

It does feel pretty hopeless. There is no accountability for anyone having a D by their name. And nothing but harassment and intimidation tactics for those with an R.

Durham is going to make a killing in book sales and on the interview and speaking circuit over the next couple of years after he hurries up and issues his toothless report that the regime's media will laugh and spike the football over.

It's got to be tough to be Durham. No support from anyone with power. All downside. Sucks.

I was just about to make the same comment as the tweet above. Our corrupt FBI paid a Russian to give them info they knew was false to pursue an investigation of Trump. Here is the real Russian collusion. Unbelievable.

Well...$$$ and threats usually do work.
Alexander, Caesar, Charlemagne, and myself founded empires; but upon what foundation did we rest the creations of our genius? Upon force! But Jesus Christ founded His upon love; and at this hour millions of men would die for Him. - Napoleon Bonaparte

Lost in all of this is the Maltese guy, Joseph Mifsud. Didn't see his name mentioned. And he's still missing.

Not to my knowledge. Last news article I saw mentioning him was in 2019 and said he was still missing.

Mifsud was definitely a spook just not sure who for? Italians, since he was based out of Rome? the Brits? He had a close working relationship with British Intelligence. The FBI? He also trained and worked with American Intelligence groups. The Russians?

Slim to none. Statute of Limitations has passed.
I saw this when you posted it, but didn't understand. I don't believe Durham was/is considering pursuing the responsible FBI employees either, but, wouldn't a conspiracy statute still be in play, since the conspiracy is still going on?

Oh yeah. Nix this post. I forgot the grand jury is either finished, or winding down. So it's not happening period.

From that article.

Quote:

Late last year, according to internal court documents obtained by Insider, US attorneys secretly convened a grand jury that examined the conduct of Charles McGonigal, the former head of counterintelligence at the FBI field office in New York City. The Justice Department declined to comment on what the grand jury was investigating or whether it remained ongoing. But a witness subpoena obtained by Insider seems to indicate that the government, in part, was looking into McGonigal's business dealings with a top aide to Oleg Deripaska, the billionaire Russian oligarch who was at the center of allegations that Russia colluded with the Trump campaign to interfere in the 2016 election.

The subpoena, issued in November, requests records relating to McGonigal and a shadowy consulting firm called Spectrum Risk Solutions. A week after the subpoena was issued, a Soviet-born immigrant named Sergey Shestakov said in a separate filing that McGonigal had helped him "facilitate" an introduction between Spectrum and Deripaska's aide. The filing also states that McGonigal helped introduce the aide to Kobre & Kim, a New York law firm that specializes in representing clients who are being investigated on suspicion of "fraud and misconduct." Shestakov, who has been identified on TV panels as a former Soviet foreign ministry official and former chief of staff to the Soviet ambassador to the United Nations, reported receiving $33,000 for the referrals.
Sounds like a FARA violation?

Quote:

The federal scrutiny of McGonigal is especially striking given his work at the FBI. Before his retirement in 2018, McGonigal led the WikiLeaks investigation into Chelsea Manning, busted Bill Clinton's national security advisor Sandy Berger for removing classified material from a National Archives reading room, and led the search for a Chinese mole inside the CIA. In 2016, when reports surfaced that Russia had hacked the email system of the Democratic National Committee, McGonigal was serving as chief of the cybercrimes section at FBI headquarters in Washington. In that capacity, he was one of the first officials to learn that a Trump campaign official had bragged that the Russians had dirt on Hillary Clinton, sparking the investigation known as Operation Crossfire Hurricane. Later that year, FBI Director James Comey promoted McGonigal to oversee counterintelligence operations in New York.

According to the witness subpoena, prosecutors are also looking into whether McGonigal has ties to the government of Bosnia and Herzegovina, as well as any "payments or gifts" he was provided by the governments of Kosovo, Montenegro, and Albania.
