Daily Mail: Hillary Clinton APPROVED sharing debunked 'covert' communications between Trump and Kremlin-backed bank with press - even though she wasn't 'totally confident' in the legitimacy, ex-campaign manager tells Durham trial
Quote:

Hillary Clinton's former campaign manager Robby Mook told a court on Friday that she signed off on sharing debunked allegations linking Donald Trump and the Kremlin-backed Alfa Bank with the media in the run-up to the 2016 election.

Mook told the trial of Michael Sussman, the first to be indicted by Special Counsel John Durham in his Russia origins probe, that he was first briefed about Alfa Bank by campaign general counsel Marc Elias.

He said he also discussed with then senior advisor Jake Sullivan - now the White House National Security advisor - and campaign chairman John Podesta about whether to share the information with a reporter.

'I discussed it with Hillary as well,' Mook told the court. He also admitted the campaign wasn't 'totally confident in the legitimacy of the data', but was hoping a reporter would follow it up and determine if it was 'accurate' or 'substantive'

'I don't remember the substance of the conversation, but notionally, the discussion was, hey, we have this and we want to share it with a reporter,' Mook said.

They decided to share it with the reporter after the meeting, he testified.

'I recall it being a member of our press staff,' Mook said . 'We authorized a staff member to share it with the media.'

The court was also shown the infamous October 31, 2016, from Hillary saying: 'Computer scientists have apparently uncovered a covert server linking the Trump Organization to a Russian-based bank.'

She included a statement from Jake Sullivan titled 'exposing Trump's Secret Line of Communication to Russia'.

Wow. I guess they don't need to admit that tweet into evidence

Maybe I am just being dense? But Hillary telling someone on her campaign to send a possibly fake/unsubstantiated story to the press is not some huge deal. Why is this being made some huge deal?

It has bearing in the Sussman trial, but political candidates always try to get dirt and seed dirt in their campaigns.

Elon chimes in.

Elon definitely seems like he swallowed the red pill within the last few weeks/months.

I think the important part is that they got government agencies involved knowing it was false. Then they played out a 4 year interference campaign against Trump and squandered God know how many millions of taxpayer dollars in phony investigations and impeachment knowing it was fake. That is a conspiracy to defraud the government is it not?

ETA: And when I say they, I mean Hillary is at the top of the food chain.

I believe their defense is along the lines of:
1) the lie in the text message was not "material" to make the fbi act
2) and oh btw you Already had plenty of info available to you know to that he was their for clients

I think Elon has Twitter in a terrible position. They are waiting for him to decide if he is going to finalize the purchase, but he is tweeting and posting links to things that would get most of accounts shut down, shadow-banned, or hit with a "disinformation" label. I think he wants to see how far he can go before somebody at Twitter calls him out for it. Meanwhile, thousands of people who follow him are likely seeing and hearing these things for the very first time today.

Exactly. Jamail was a jackass - and I've faced plenty like him. The courts refused to reign them in - they get away with murder. What Elon needs is a group of Plaintiff-side litigators with not an ounce of shame.

I'm certainly not arguing with you, but does that type of behavior often carry the day in the courtroom?

If so, I'd be quite surprised if more lawyers aren't like Jamail. Believe me, I'm not advocating his behavior, or those like him, but if the judges often allow those actions to continue, and possibly prevail, why wouldn't most lawyers adopt it?

Based on what I've read, it sounds like prosecution lawyers for Michael Flynn, or the government lawyers on the Veritas case. Although, both cases appeared to have the type of judges you describe.

Just a random legal question.

Tort reform in Texas made many of them to change practice areas.

I knew two kick ass plaintiff's lawyers, mainly medical and legal malpractice cases, in the early 2000s. Those guys were granular into detail, even looking up and humming the deponent's HS alma mater during breaks, if they were in the HS band, sports guys, cheerleaders, etc. That was against a Vinson & Elkins attorney.

Oh and I just remembered how they set up that case. It was a business partner dispute wherein V&E represented both parties to a Joint Venture but then favored one (the bigger client) over the other and cut them out of the entire deal which was a real estate development deal. $$$$$$ involved.

During the demand letter stage, the V&E lawyer avowed he represented the Joint Venture, not the parties involved in the Joint Venture, in writing, several times. They kept sending letters requesting clarification on that point, nailed him into that position. No wiggle room.

Then they sued the other partner in the Joint Venture and guess who immediately sent out an entry of appearance on their behalf? Yeah, THAT GUY.

Then, they sued the law firm. And the deposition fun began. V&E paid over 8 figures in that settlement, more than was requested in actual damages in the complaint.

Actually, it is not. Joe Jamail was a very unethical lawyer. He lied like a dog, he cheated, he threatened witnesses and destroyed evidence. Because he could get away with that crap back then and get away with it.

Harder to get away with that now. Very hard.

That is real measure of how professional a lawyer really was. If he/she could cheat easier but did not.

Yes. And at the same time, he's redpilling some people and increasing Twitter's value...IMHO
