Getting tired but must ask - if I read QTGM's lengthy post on the previous page correctly as it pertains to purported changes made by Mr. Clinesmith on the 2nd FISA renewal and how it was subsequently 'used/employed' by the Special Council's team...would that not further besmirch Mueller's investigation/final report?

The assumption here is anything obtained from the two hop protocol used from Carter Page's FISA warrant is inadmissible. How many people that affects is another question. Maybe Flynn?????

Read that this morning. The biggest takeaway for me was his obvious alarm the day after the election that his name was all over the records for spying on Trump's staff. Consciousness of guilt, there.

That is a great Cates thread. It explains a lot- especially how Sidney Powell has been getting all this information. Barr has been declassifying it to her.

Am I reading this wrong or does the fact that the Prosecution is asking for this delay because of the IG report not a tacit admission that the report is going to be pretty damning for them (meaning the prosecution), or at least that they expect it to be?

I'm clearly not a lawyer, but this seems like, as Uncle Joe would say, a "big ****ing deal".

I don't think its an admission they know it will be bad. If they thought that, they would probably push to get him sentenced.

Its more likely an admission they know it will be relevant.

Seems to me that is a tacit admission by the prosecution there was some type of FISA on Flynn at some point and that matters pertinent to Flynn may very well mentioned in the report.

Sidney's in the loop and knows something is coming. Jesse Liu, the DC U.S. Attorney has probably received a heads up as well. She's already on thin ice thanks to Van Grack's...<ahem>...lack of candor.

Sad commentary on our Justice Department. Perhaps it should be renamed Conviction Department.

Court Filing: Obama Holdover Heading Office Under Investigation for 'Illegally Leaked' Classified Document

The Obama holdover heading the Pentagon office reportedly under investigation by the U.S. attorney who is conducting the criminal probe of the TrumpRussia investigation was accused of leaking a classified document, in a recent court filing for retired Lt. Gen. Michael Flynn.

The connection hasn't been previously reported.

<snip>

In addition, however, a court filing indicates that ONA's director, James H. Baker, "is believed to be the person who illegally leaked the transcript of Mr. Flynn's calls" to The Washington Post. Specifically, the filing states, "ONA Director Baker regularly lunched with Washington Post Reporter David Ignatius."

The filing adds that Baker "was Halper's 'handler'" at ONA. Moreover, according to the court filing, the tasks assigned to "known long-time operative for the CIA/FBI" Halper "seem to have included slandering Mr. Flynn with accusations of having an affair with a young professor (a British national of Russian descent)."

I seem to recall that CWPage was never charged with anything in a GJ indictment. Flynn was charged with violation of FARA, and a process crime...lying to the FBI. Page was the easiest tool to get the warrant, from which they could two-hop legitimately. But I'm quite sure that this whole plot was the result of a two-hop analysis of who was within reach inside that circle, with Page having the requisite questionable activities in his background. Questionable, I said, if you ignore or refuse to look at any facts related to his activities.

Carter was charged and found guilty in the Court of Public Opinion...but never sentenced. Mueller and Weissman stayed away from charging anything to do with the FISA warrants...because they didn't want that hairy Tarantula walking around in the courtroom. Weissman's Mueller's attack dogs had enough problems picking up this turd by the clean end.

Page has no need of a lawyer, just the truth coming out. When it does, perhaps Powell as his legal advocate could mimic the Texas Hammer and put a rather large hole in Weissman's skull...figuratively speaking of course.

Just to be clear here. There are two James Baker(s) involved in this mess. One was Comey's counsel at the FBI and then Halper's handler at DOD in the Office of Net Assessment.

I cannot believe that Horowitz did not interview Carter Page, the central figure in the FISA abuse investigation. If this is true, how could the IG report have any credibility?

I doubt we'll ever have a DOJ investigation into federal hiring during the O administration, but every time someone like ONA's Baker pops up, it ALWAYS has an Obama holdover connection. There was an earlier post about many DOJ employees being interviewed, and cleared by ACORN first. I'm not commenting on that, but I am wondering who, and how many, Obama appointees and employees had to be cleared for their Democratic vengeance and covert government operations?

As usual, I was tyring to make light of something earlier by saying the Dems had spies everywhere, so why wouldn't there be a recording from Parna of Guiliani and Trump speaking. Well, it appears to be correct. How many frickin' land mines did those sons of *****es leave?

So yes, let's see a DOJ investigation into O's hiring practices.

BTW, isn't "obstruction" what it says it is, taking action to impede an investigation? I'm interested to know what action that may have been?

So yes, even under optimistic circumstances, the House would have difficulty proving that allegation, but I bet they do it. They were pretty excersized after the Mulehead report came out, so now is the time to deliver.
