As my parting post on this thread, ponder this for a long time. Can a "client" sue "their attorney" for malpractice when said "attorney" is volunteering advice and not being paid? Like Lanny Davis, for example?

It's not like Lanny was working for Legal Aid and was assigned Cohen as a "client."

Cohen is facing several new charges which will extend his prison time. Think Lanny GAS? Nope. Cohen was his useful idiot.

Carry on. I'll keep tabs and wish you luck.

I'm not sure what happened with you but I have seen posters attack you personally so I am guessing something happened relating to this. Like so many others that have posted and supported (starred) their appreciation and admiration for you and your contributions on this board, I feel very much the same way and hope you stay. On the other hand I completely understand needing to step away from things and specifically TexAgs and/or the Politics board, in particular. Taking a break from it all can be a very good thing, especially if you are one of the warriors and constantly dealing with attacks.

Just wanted to chime in and let you know from me how highly regarded I consider you. If I may ask would you consider just one thing, - make an exception for this one thread only. Just this one. You are among friends here. We'll look out for you and take care of you and come to the defense of you here. You have made such a huge difference in this important thread. We need you here.

Thank you so much. You've made a big difference for others and I want you to know that.
Coming out of my self-imposed ban to put in another vote for this. I may post on this thread but am seriously reducing my TexAgs time. Hope you'll stay around on this thread - it appears the few weeks and months could be very interesting and your contributions here would be very much appreciated. And we've got your back!

Rep. Devin Nunes, R-Calif., said Friday he wants "everything" in special counsel Robert Mueller's Russia investigation to be released to the public.

The federal inquiry is widely expected to wrap up in the near future, after reports indicated Attorney General William Barr was preparing to receive Mueller's report as early as this week.

During an appearance at the Conservative Political Action Conference in Oxon Hill, Md., Nunes, the ranking member of the House Intelligence Committee, said he doesn't think the report will present anything "worthwhile or have anything new."

I'll miss your contributions, Hawg. I hope you stop in here from time to time to weigh in. You have my utmost respect and I'm sure your leaving is warranted. Honestly, you and a few others are the only reason I hang around here. Now that you are not contributing as much (if at all), I can see myself having a lot of extra time to do other things. TexAgs forum 16 won't be the same and is lesser for it.

Since so many of you have requested and I said I'd be keeping tabs, I'll be back when the situation warrants and I feel I could be helpful and not endanger the thread as a whole. Too much work has been done and I fear my continued presence here would result in a thread deletion, sadly, as that has never been my intent but now is my worst fear.

That might be when Felix Sater testifies, although I doubt that ends up being in public testimony, for several different reasons.

In the meantime, my advice is to pay close attention to the changes in the House rules that Pelosi has already made and what they portend.

Start HERE and follow the links and do your own research to draw your own conclusions.

Thanks to all.

I doubt there will be any revelations from this, but who knows. She was hired by Mifsud in 2016, & Mifsud was the one who introduced her to Papadopoulos. She was interviewed by Team Mueller which initially suspected her of being a Russian spy...which she wasn't.

Edit: Since tweeting about testifying before the Senate of March 11, Simona Papadopoulos has disabled/deleted her Twitter account -- note the blank above. Strange.

I noticed that she had been the recipient of some hateful twitter comments/replies per the above tweet, but when one is a celebrity in the limelight of politics, that has to be expected.

Carter Page dropping hints IMO.
Flynn, when Obama's D.I.A., spoke at the Cambridge Intelligence Seminar on Feb 28, 2014. It was at this seminar where he met the Russian gal Svetlana Lokhova & rumors were planted about her being a spy (a Russian honeypot). Hint: Both Stefan Halper & Richard Dearlove were present. Combine this with the Flynn-Putin dinner meeting in December 2015 & you have about all you would need to justify electronic surveillance on Flynn if you were Obama/Clinton.

Concord Management is continuing it's pursuit of a 'bill of particulars' from Team Mueller, the latter refusing to provide one in response to previous requests for almost a year now. Concord is claiming the indictment is extremely vague & they don't know what they are being charged with. Seems to me this case will never be heard unless the judge agrees to order Mueller to provide the materials. Eric Dubelier, the flamboyant lawyer representing Concord, was very respectful in this discourse. The document is linked above. Below is a sample of the argument:

I went down a rabbit hole, mostly on wishful thinking but stumbled upon a fact that I never knew before. Remember Geofrey Berman, the sitting US Attorney for SDNY?

Quote:

Upon President Donald Trump's firing Preet Bharara as U.S. Attorney, Trump reportedly interviewed Berman among other candidates for the position. Berman had performed some part-time volunteer work for the Trump transition. On January 3, 2018, Attorney General Jeff Sessions announced Berman's appointment as U.S. Attorney, along with sixteen other former prosecutors, to serve in various offices around the country on an interim basis until the Senate can permanently confirm them. The Trump Administration never nominated Berman or most of the other interim appointments.

On April 25, 2018, the Chief Judge of the Southern District of New York entered an order formally on behalf of a unanimous court appointing Berman United States Attorney pursuant to its authority under 28 U.S.C Section 546(d). Berman has the appointment indefinitely until someone is nominated by the President and confirmed by the Senate.
https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Geoffrey_Berman

Sure, it's wiki but a search for confirmation hearings on Berman came up blank and then there's this:

Quote:

Trump never submitted Berman's name to the Senate for confirmation, but his appointment became permanent anyway after federal judges voted unanimously to keep him in the job.
LINK

If I am reading that correctly, Trump can nominate someone else at SDNY or any of the other appointments Sessions made that were never confirmed. Meaning Whittaker could potentially be nominated for a separate US Attorney slot.

Just something to keep in mind.

Hello, what have we here?

Quote:

Christopher Steele, the British spook who authored a largely unverified dossier about President Donald Trump's alleged ties to Russia, has backed out of plans to speak by video at a pro-democracy gathering in Baltimore next week, according to conference organizers.

The planned speaking engagement, which had not previously been reported, would have marked his first public appearance since the publication of the explosive dossier aside from brief statements he made to the media in March 2017.

Quote:

Steele was scheduled to speak on a panel moderated by Washington Post columnist Anne Applebaum. The panel also features Evelyn Farkas, a former deputy assistant secretary of defense for Russia/Ukraine/Eurasia under Barack Obama, and Ed Lucas of the Center for European Policy Analysis, Epshtein said.
Quote:

Though Steele is listed as a speaker in promotional materials, Applebaum said that he had gotten "cold feet" last week and canceled. She added that he backed out on advice of counsel. An email sent to Steele's private intelligence firm, Orbis, was not immediately returned.
Quote:

Steele's abortive reemergence in the spotlight comes at a time when Mueller is reportedly close to wrapping up his investigation of possible collusion between the Trump campaign and Russia.

https://saraacarter.com/former-ag-lynch-appeared-to-have-amnesia-during-december-testimony-about-carter-page-fisa/

Quote:

..."By statute, the Attorney General is the final signatory on the FISA applications," stated Lynch to the committee. "By regulation, the signatory authority has been delegated -- shall I say shared -- with the Deputy Attorney General and the head of the national security division as long as the people in those positions are presidentially appointed and Senate-confirmed."

Lynch on Page

I don't have any recollection of being briefed on the Page application either. And I don't have a recollection of signing it, said Lynch.

So she knows the rules and regulations but when asked in more detail about the process of approving the FBI's application on Page she freezes.

Goodlatte, who was then the chairman of the committee, asked Lynch: "Is that what happened to the Carter Page case?"

"I wasn't involved in the processing of the Page FISA and I can outline the process for you but I don't have personal (knowledge) of it," she said....

Sally Yates signed the initial application for Carter Page's FISA in October 2016 as well as the first renewal in January 2017. Lynch is claiming she had no knowledge about Page's FISA...wasn't even briefed about it = Lynch threw Yates under the bus (or she lied to protect Obama). Perhaps this explains why it was Yates who was all over the Flynn phone calls with the Russian Ambassador; Yates was running point guard on the Russian collusion scheme for the DOJ. After flubbing the tarmac meeting with Uncle Bill in June 2016, Lynch may have been relegated to figurehead status.
