I assume that is the same Lucy Koh that upheld the states lawsuit against Apple concerning collusion with publishers. She then appointed her friend to monitor Apple's compliance forcing Apple to pay excessive fees to him and he had limited to no expertise in this form of litigation.

This ruling allowed Amazon to monopolize online book sales to the detriment of both brick & motar bookstores and the publisher. .
You would be exactly correct..... pure activist judge..... Not wanted, her rulings were for sale. Her antitrust rulings were complete garbage.

Interesting thread on Flynn, Turkey, & Never-Trumpers. I suspect this all ties in with Khashoggi's death, but delving into the past it likely ties into the probable FISA on Papadopoulos & the Middle East pipeline conflicts between Israel, Turkey, Iran & Saudi Arabia.

Interesting read illustrating a case where Steele's Russian source info was not up to snuff.

Quote:

My sources tell me that FBI counterintelligence analyst Jon Moffa recently told congressional investigators in a transcribed interview that the bureau was still trying to verify the Steele dossier when it was submitted as evidence for the FISA warrant.

"Our work on verifying facts of the FISA would have been facts of the reporting would have been ongoing at the time the FISA was generated," Moffa told House investigators, according to the transcript.

Moffa's statement isn't the only red flag.

From my earlier reporting, we know that former FBI lawyer Lisa Page told Congress this past summer that in May 2017 seven months after the FISA warrant was issued, and nine months after the Russia probe was started the FBI had not corroborated the main allegation in Steele's dossier about collusion between Moscow and the Trump.

And former FBI Director James Comey testified in June 2017 that the dossier was considered unverified and salacious.

Yet it was used as evidence to justify the FBI spying on the campaign of a duly-elected GOP presidential nominee's campaign, even though it started as political opposition research paid for by the Democratic Party and Hillary Clinton's campaign.

Even Steele's former boss, Fusion GPS founder Glenn Simpson, expressed uncertainty about some of the Russia intelligence Steele was providing.

During a December 2016 meeting, Associate Deputy Attorney General Bruce Ohr recorded Simpson in written notes as saying that some people believed one of the allegations of collusion "but others disagree."

More importantly, Simpson told Ohr that Steele's main source wasn't in Moscow but, rather, was a former Russian intelligence figure in Washington, the notes show.

"Much of the collection about the Trump campaign ties to Russia comes from a former Russian intelligence officer (? not entirely clear) who lives in the US," Ohr wrote in his notes, quoting Simpson.
By notes, they are more than likely referring to Bruce Ohr's 302's he filed and that were reviewed during his testimony before the Senate Intelligence Committee, that Grassley referred to in his letter.

There are literally 100's of former Russian Intelligence assets stashed all over the US in a little known program called "Red Fern" that was established back in the early days of the cold war. CIA flipped assets are put into the program and placed throughout the states, handled by the USMS witness protection program. Ohr's reference in his notes seem a little fishy to me. Him being a DOJ/DD would likely allow him to have access to the asset lists, but I just don't buy him referring to anyone, by name anyway, in Red Fern on any 302.

I personally think Steele filled Ohr with a bunch of crap to try and sell his garbage document, and the actual source is part of the BS story. Still believe that the so called dossier was a complete fabrication by Sidney Blumenthal and Cody Shearer. I think Steele made up his source to keep the FBI cash flowing. The big payoff would have been if they managed to derail Trump and Clinton was elected, they would be rich and have a marker on Hillary they could use in the future if it came down to it.

Was always above his pay grade to make that determination. He doesn't get to choose his boss. Besides, arguing that Whitaker's appointment as Acting AG was a violation of the appointments clause would have been awkward since that is one of the grounds upon which Mueller's own appointment is being attacked.

Despite a year and a half of blather about obstruction of justice in Trump's firing of Comey, even Team Mueller as creative as they are in coming up with novel crimes, couldn't quite get there. Comey and Mueller being besties or not.

Also ....Steele, Simpson, Perkins Coie, DNC, and the entire DOJ/FBI cabal were all convinced the probability of Trump winning was less than a 5% ... combined with mass media and entertainment industry collaboratives ... all shenanigans were likely viewed as 100% risk free.

Probably depends on if there is even the slightest thing the media can run with for a week or two.

I don't feel like there were any really interesting questions in there. Mostly easy to answer questions about "Did you collude with Russia"... blah blah. At least that is the way that Trump has acted. Not detailed questions is my guess.

https://www.businessinsider.com/rudy-giuliani-trump-wont-answer-mueller-obstruction-of-justice-questions-2018-11

"Trump's lawyer says Trump won't answer Mueller's obstruction-of-justice questions"

"President Donald Trump won't answer any questions from the special counsel Robert Mueller having to do with obstruction of justice, Trump's lawyer Rudy Giuliani told the news website Axios in an article published Wednesday.

Trump submitted written answers for Mueller's Russia investigation on Tuesday but ruled out answering any future questions about his behavior as president, Axios reported.

The site said that Mueller did not ask specifically about obstruction of justice in this round of questioning but that Trump and his team had decided to stonewall further questions should they arrive.

While Mueller could subpoena Trump on his activities as president, Giuliani said Trump would refuse to cooperate.

"I don't think he has any way to compel testimony on obstruction because the argument of executive privilege would be very, very strong," Giuliani told Axios. "It all relates to a period of time after he was president."

"The president's son, Donald Trump Jr, met a Russian lawyer during the campaign who was said to have "dirt" on Mrs Clinton, and former adviser George Papadopoulos has admitted lying to the FBI about meetings with alleged go-betweens for Russia.

Four people connected with Mr Trump's campaign and presidency - campaign chairman Paul Manafort, advisers Rick Gates and George Papadopoulos, as well as former national security adviser Michael Flynn - have been charged.

However, the US president denies any wrongdoing and no solid evidence has emerged to implicate him."

We already knew the UK & Australia were lobbying against declassification of Carter Page's FISA...this article indicates the lobbying is very intense and involves MI6, and there are hints more details may appear in The Telegraph tomorrow. There can be little question that GCHQ's Robert Hannigan's resignation immediately following Trump's inauguration was tied to SpyGate.

Behind most foreign policy you can look for pipelines or oil field access as being the issue. Almost never really concern for human interests or plights in the zones involved.

It raises the question as America becomes ever closer to truly energy independent -- could we start being drawn into such things less? A provocative hope.

When you read this account, it is obvious that Trump isn't involved at all with any of it. Yet within the narrative are actors who embarked upon efforts to fabricate a theme to bring down Trump, and it is this fabrication which lingers in the air and promotes great division and discord throughout our society. It may well be that McCabe/Steele & Ohr were attempting either to blackmail Deripaska into joining the conspiracy or enticing him to join via perks.....while Manafort in his position was courting Deripaska to regain his financial relationship with Deripaska. Why Congress never called Deripaska to testify is beyond me, especially since he was a willing participant.
