This article might interest you regarding anti-Semitism and the media.
In lieu of hemmy's comments, and based on witnessing 35 years of their actions, my view is that the Jewish Dems allegiances are to the Dem/ Very Progressive wing of that Party, not Israel.

Would they stand by while someone lit up the country with a nuke, probably not, but they would quickly get over it.

And BTW hawg, isn't the paragon of journalistic virtue, the NYT, hiring the most hateful people possible? I'm asking because of the lady executive they hired 2-3 months ago had some whopper twitter comments, and likely despises Jews.
I am quickly coming to the conclusion that the current iteration of "Progressivism" in the Democratic Party has a healthy dose of anti-Semitism already baked into the cake, if you will. Just part and parcel of the divisiveness created by identity politics. When a Dem candidate (now elected) for Congress is spouting Elders of Zion crap on the campaign trail and no one bats an eye, that's concerning.

That anti-Semitism may or may not extend to Israel itself, or to be more precise, Netanyahu. Many American Jews can still support Israel in theory but fervently believe that Bibi is Satan.

You can be Jewish, or black, or trans, or whatever, but you still MUST have the correct politics to be acceptable, and you must accept your politically correct identity and victomhood prestige ranking within the progressive identity politics spectrum.

Hadn't thought about it that way but you are right. There is an Orwellian victim hierarchy within identity politics.

He's requesting deferred sentencing/imprisonment because the special council's existence is being challenged.

Not sure how this plays given he already pleaded guilty.

Nothing will come of any of this as regards justice against the Leftist conspirators in the Obama admin and the alphabets. In fact, Hillary is making noises about running again, when should be in pensioned retirement little removed from house arrest like Nixon ended up.

There remains danger for Trump's side, because they have now had two years to entirely fabricate evidence and maybe test it different ways to make sure holds up. After taking so long, if they find something, will be strongly inclined to assume it was manufactured.

The last time anyone was punished for failing to comply to a congressional committee was when Rita Lavelle (a Republican), EPA official April 26, 1983 the House Committee on Energy and Commerce House of Representatives found her in contempt as well as she was Indicted for lying to Congress; convicted; sentenced to 6 months in prison, 5 years probation thereafter, and a fine of $10,000.

Since then Lois Lerner, Eric Holder and Carl Ferrer, the CEO of Backpage were all found in contempt of Congress and lying to congress however the DOJ under Barry never went after them legally. In fact Loretta Lynch on January 9 2017 with 11 days left in her tenure stated that the Backpage executives all had immunity under section 230 of the CDA, and the day before they were to have to testify before the Senate Judiciary committee. for charges a child trafficking, pretty much shutting down the Senate investigation into all that child trafficking and underage prostitution, and they were allowed to carry on business as usual.

However in March of 2018 the Trump DOJ went after Carl Ferrer, arrested him and seized his assets. He also agreed to a plea deal in which he will testify against other alleged co-conspirators, such as but not limited to founders Michael Lacey and James Larkin. The State of Texas also has cases pending against them for Human Trafficking and pimping underage girls. They are all still in the works. The State of Texas has vowed to go for maximum sentencing against Lacey and Larkin. The company Backpage was seized by the feds and shut down on April 6 2018.

On April 6, 2018, Backpage was seized by the DOJ, and Michael Lacey's home was raided by the FBI. Lacey was charged with money laundering and violations of the Travel Act.

On April 9, 2018, the DOJ's indictment against Backpage was unsealed. The 93 charges include, but are not limited to:

Quote:

"Crimes of conspiracy to facilitate prostitution using a facility in interstate or foreign commerce, facilitating prostitution using a facility in interstate or foreign commerce, conspiracy to commit money laundering, concealment money laundering, international promotional money laundering, and transactional money laundering."

Reading the indictment the seven people charged in the indictment are: Michael Lacey of Paradise Valley, Arizona; James Larkin of Paradise Valley, Arizona; Scott Spear of Scottsdale, Arizona; John E. "Jed" Brunst of Phoenix, Arizona; Daniel Hyer of Dallas, Texas; Andrew Padilla of Plano, Texas; and Jaala Joye Vaught of Addison, Texas. These cases are all still pending sentencing since they all plead guilty in the federal charges, but the State of Texas cases are still in the works and Paxton wants to lock them up forever. Their lawyers kept filing continuances hoping Paxton would lose his re-election this year but he didn't and I suspect they will start trying to make a plea deal ASAP, but I doubt Paxton goes along, they have them dead to rights, since the Federal Judges ruled that they fell outside of the immunity under Section 230.

So this DOJ under Trump has shown a little backbone but we will see if they follow through completely.

You know the classic saying of "follow the money" ?

Well, where the Mideast especially is concerned, and much of the more incoherent moments of foreign policy -- think of it as "follow pipeplines" -- especially ones not yet built. There was even a pipeline involved in the Afghanistan troubles. It also explains the bad nations where you see something sometimes worse, but nothing is done about it. There wasn't a resource involved.

House Intelligence Committee Chairman Devin Nunes, R-Calif., revealed the existence of a "fourth bucket" of information related to potential misconduct by the FBI that he wants declassified......

The last tranche of documents, he said, pertains to emails showing knowledge about withholding information from the Foreign Intelligence Surveillance Act court.

"The new fourth bucket that we're asking to be declassified now is -- for months we have been reviewing emails between FBI, and DOJ, and others that clearly show that they knew about information that should have been presented to the FISA court," he said......

Starts out with Hoover and the Nixon era. Thus far is good.

ETA: well it's easy to see where this propaganda is headed. They make Hoover with all his illegal spying out to be some kind of hero to the republic. Just another build up that is sure to be a hit piece on Trump at the conclusion.

I assume that is the same Lucy Koh that upheld the states lawsuit against Apple concerning collusion with publishers. She then appointed her friend to monitor Apple's compliance forcing Apple to pay excessive fees to him and he had limited to no expertise in this form of litigation.

This ruling allowed Amazon to monopolize online book sales to the detriment of both brick & motar bookstores and the publisher. .
Among the latter, under pretence of governing they have divided their nations into two classes, wolves and sheep.”
