I could be wrong, but in a private hearing, he could be asked things he was privy to when he had clearance. It looks like moving this to a public hearing would, at a minimum, require these items to be scrubbed. Either meaning that some things couldn't be discussed, or it takes time and goes past midterms so the whole thing could be dropped.

Eff Comey and the rest....it is all a freaking joke with the punchline coming in 5 weeks. Screw the evidence, all investigations stops if/when the dems take the house.
