From what I understand, the next in line would technically be the Acting Associate Attorney General (Jesse Panuccio), but since Panuccio is not confirmed by the Senate and Francisco is, it would be Francisco.

Vox is in damage control since Swan shot himself in the foot taking the bait, and being the dancing chicken, running blindly with the Rosenstein scoop, and changed the narrative for Trump. Now he's claiming that it was given verbally but not "formally accepted". Best thing he can do is STFU and let the dust settle. In his process to try and save face he just keeps digging the hole deeper. Jonathan Swan is usually pretty solid and down the middle, and that is likely the very reason he was used in the leak.

Trump has done THREE things with one swipe of his Katana. He changed the direction of the Twitter trends and got egg on the face of every network including Fox, letting the MSM make their own crappy credibility make itself even worse, with all this Kavanaugh nonsense being flung around. Watching Morning Schmo just now. They had Rob Goldstone on set. He's the publicist that sent the email to Don Jr. that culminated in the June 2016 Trump Tower meeting. He also was in the meeting.

He said he was called by Emin (his rock star client) and told Emin's father (Russian oligarch) had just met with a friend who is a Russian prosecutor and that the Russians had information on foreign illegal contributions to the Democrats. It was Rob's idea to specify Hillary, in the belief that it would get Don, Jr.'s attention. In is words, he "puffed it up" like a publicist does.

He now knows that a Russian lawyer, Veselnitskaya had asked the Agaralovs to get her a meeting with Trump. And they called Rob. So from the get go it was always about the Magnitsky Act.

At the meeting he said Jared was seated right next to him and was visibly agitated interrupting Veselnitskaya saying something like, "I have no idea what you are talking about. Can you refocus?" According to Goldstone, maybe it was a translation error because she took that to mean to start over with her presentation. It was all about Bill Browder and the Magnitsky Act. He said Don, Jr. only spoke to ask her to proceed with her presentation and then 20-25 minutes later, to end the meeting. Manafort didn't say anything either.

He doesn't recall if Hillary's name was even mentioned. About the only thing the Morning Schmo team could glom onto was whether Kushner left the meeting early. Goldstone initially said both Manafort and Kushner stayed for the entire meeting but then revised his story to say Kushner could have left and the rest of them lagged a few minutes behind but that he was sure Manafort was directly in front of him when they were leaving the meeting room.

In short, the whole Trump Tower meeting was a big nothing burger as it had nothing to do with Russian collusion, Hillary's emails, DNC hacking, Podesta, even illegal campaign contributions to the Democratic Party.
