Interesting short thread on Papadopoulos. Does he appear in any of the FISA applications for Carter Page? How was he portrayed in the EC submitted when the Trump Russia collusion investigation was initiated?

Has anyone that was in the hearing with Ohr come out and said on the record that Huber hasn't interviewed Ohr?

All I'm hearing are pundits claiming it with no named source. I'm skeptical... Until someone goes on the record, that was actually in that hearing, I will remain skeptical.

Also I've heard no one say Horowitz hasn't spoken with him either. If Horowitz has Ohr on the record either lying or has Ohr caught dead to rights, in what he's being accused of, there may not be any reason for Huber to talk to him. There is so much disinformation floating about, it's hard not to be fooled.

Now Gaetz, Issa, Jordan, Meadows, Gohmert and Ratcliffe have all been in front of cameras and I haven't heard any of this come out of their mouths. If I missed it please point it out. Or if they've tweeted it same thing. Hannity is going off the chain with this narrative, which is not a surprise, Sara Carter says she's got a source, but she might be being fed bad information.

Not one of these people that were in the hearing have even hinted to the veracity of this narrative that Bruce Ohr hasn't been interviewed by Mueller or Huber. Not one tweet, not one retweet, not even a like of any of these narratives. NOT A HINT. If it were true, and I'm not saying it's absolutely false, but I'm saying if it were true, you couldn't keep Matt Gaetz or Louie Gohmert shut up about this at all, pretty sure not Jim Jordan either.

Haven't even seen Trey Gowdy on camera at all since the hearing.

Just not buying this narrative until I hear it from the horse's mouth. Hannity can get apoplectic all he wants, not buying it.

The redacted FISA applications contain only 4 limited references to Papadopoulos. The same reference on each application.

Notice anything strange about this screenshot of the ICIG (Intelligence Community Inspector General) web page on reports?

2016 is missing, or maybe it never existed. I have been scouring the web to try and find this ICIG report Gohmert keeps talking about, and can't find it anywhere. Not even a summary report for the time frame when all this illegal spying was going on.

But point is they don't even have the Semi Annual reports up that are just general summaries of all their activity for the time period all this crap was going on.

It's Blank from Sept 2015 all the way to April 2017, that 18 months that are missing

Horowitz has cloudy jurisdiction over DOJ attorneys ... technically defined as instances when attorneys are not litigating, investigating, or providing legal advice. In all other instances, oversight jurisdiction goes to the DOJ's Office of Professional Responsibility.

Ohr obviously crossed that line ... but I'll bet DOJ argued otherwise and denied OIG access to Ohr. Firewalled.

I was under the impression that Gohmert was talking about the State Department's Inspector General, not the Intelligence Inspector General?

Remember there wasn't an Inspector General at State when Hillary was Secretary but there is now. Not sure how a State Department IG could figure out what was going on with her server years earlier. AFAIK, Hillary never used an official State Department email account.

I'm confused.

According to Gohmert it was the ICIG that brought it to congress after the DOJ blew him off.

It's not just the dims. Many Republicans are entrenched as well and don't want to upset the status quo. Our government is corrupt to the core and we have a chance to clean it up. If we don't do it now, it will never be done.

John Solomon on the Mifsud issue. HERE.

Takeaway? Mifsud met with the FBI in February 2017 and had follow up email exchanges denying his contacts with Papadopoulus were ever about cybersecurity or hacking.

Quote:

Documents I obtained from sources show Mifsud told the FBI in February 2017 that his contacts with Papadopoulos a year earlier, during the 2016 presidential campaign, were mostly innocuous. He made that point both in an FBI interview and a follow-up email to agents.

He described the contacts as an academic exercise in pursuit of peace, not a global plot to hijack the election. And he went out of his way to say there was no talk of sinister cybersecurity intentions such as a plot to hack Hillary Clinton's emails.

"I reaffirm that the content of our conversations was always on wide geo-strategic issues," he wrote FBI agents on Feb. 11, in an email that was quickly sent to the very top of the FBI's counterintelligence division. Mifsud sent the email just hours after agents interviewed him.

He said the conversations mostly centered around "how the Trump then-campaign team looked to develop a conversation on Europe/UK and with Russia" and "the fallout in policy in the deteriorating relationship between the major countries in the world today."

Geez, sounds more like a topic for a Miss Universe contestant's essay on world peace than the opener of a James Bond movie.

Mifsud acknowledged he introduced Papadopoulos to a contact in Russia, whom he identified as Dr. Ivan N. Timofeev, who he described as "a director of a think tank in Moscow with strong links with a number of U.S. institutions."

But, again, he stressed the contacts were mostly academic in nature.

"Dr. Timofeev and I have been collaborating for a number of years on a number of geo-strategic issues, mainly pertaining to publications/training for diplomats/international experts on energy security and their implications on international relations," Mifsud told the FBI. "After speaking to both individuals, I put them in contact with each other."

"The intent of that 'bridging' was specifically of a geo-political nature and not tied in any way or form to cybersecurity," Mifsud insisted to the FBI. "It was to create a mutual understanding on world affairs and how we can contribute to peace and stability."

The mere fact Mifsud felt compelled, after his FBI interview, to write a follow-up email repeatedly insisting that his contacts with Papadopoulos were innocuous is an indication he didn't like the way the FBI portrayed events.

In fact, at one point in his email, he bold-faced a single sentence for emphasis: "Cybersecurity was never the direct object of any of our communications."
If that reporting is remotely accurate, Team Mueller have been lying out of their azzes about Papadopoulus.

Crystal clear conflict of interest problem that Mueller should be well aware of that would taint the legitimacy of much of his team's work from an ethical practices standpoint.

I still think Mueller isn't corrupt, but rather he is self-absorbed and self-righteous and pursues his charge hyperaggressively, choosing to let the legal systems checks and balances try to limit his pursuit of targets versus his own ethical concerns.

Quote:

The recent filing contains two newly disclosed FBI memos documenting the April 2017 meeting. It included three FBI agents; a Justice Department trial attorney; an assistant U.S. attorney and Andrew Weissmann, then chief of the DOJ's fraud division before he moved on to Special Counsel Robert Mueller's Russia probe. The meeting also included four AP reporters: Chad Day, Jack Gillum, Ted Bridis and Eric Tucker.
