According to Fox/Drudge...it appears the jury will recess for the weekend w/o a verdict. Bets on the future verdict, guilty-all counts, some counts, hung jury or acquittal????
Guilty on the tax charges. (very confident)

Guilty on the '11 failure to report foreign accts (he controlled 100%). Not guilty where he only controlled 50%. (least confident - they could get him on all)

Hung jury on the bank fraud. (confidence level between the other two)

OK, but what about the safety and security of these jurors? They didn't ask to be a part of this. They were conscripted. And frankly, I don't think these people will be safe if they return less than a conviction.
I think that's the point...

My concern is this jury is not sequestered. They will be at home, unless Ellis asks them to work over the weekend. The press wants to harass them during that time frame obviously, else they wouldn't have filed the motion.

But that doesn't mean some of them might not be discoverable through facial recognition technology. I don't know how well they are shielded from prying eyes or cell phones outside of the courtroom. Like say in the bathrooms. They are not deliberating in the jury room, they are in a break room, presumably a less secure area.

However, the case is on appeal, so who knows what will eventually happen. Likely the only fact they have verified in the dossier is that Carter Page gave a talk in Moscow in early July 2016.

From the link about what Wolfe's lawyers are up within the link as a reminder:

Quote:

The scant media coverage all focused on a narrative that Mr. Wolfe was requesting a gag order against President Trump in his case. However, as you can see above, that was not the request. More broadly Wolfe's attorneys were attempting to bar any government official from any public statement. This is Key. keep that in mind as you look at the second development.
After losing the gag order request, lawyers for Mr. Wolfe have sent letters to every Senator who sits on the Senate Select Committee on Intelligence. [As we have shared for years, the SSCI is the deepest and most corrupt part of the Deep State swamp.]
The lawyers for Wolfe are putting the senators on notice they might be called as defense witnesses. Read carefully, including between the lines (emphasis mine):
Quote:

WASHINGTONMembers of the Senate Intelligence Committee have been notified they may be asked for testimony as part of the criminal trial of a veteran Senate staffer accused of lying to the FBI while working for the panel.
Attorneys for James A. Wolfe sent letters to all 15 senators on the committee, notifying them that their testimony may be sought as part of Mr. Wolfe's defense, according to two people familiar with the matter.

Quote:

Mr. Wolfe, who for nearly 30 years served as the director of security for the intelligence committee, was arrested last month and charged with lying to the FBI about his contacts with reporters while the bureau was conducting an investigation into leaks of classified information to journalists. Mr. Wolfe wasn't charged with leaking any information.
Mr. Wolfe's defense lawyers are considering calling the senators as part of the proceedings for a variety of reasons, including as potential character witnesses and to rebut some of the allegations made by the government in the criminal complaint, these people say. (link)

At a minimum, this a graymail, likely resulting in the invocation of the Classified Information Procedures Act. Which of course would mean most if not all of the proceedings would be conducted out of the public eyes.

The second question is whether the Senators would invoke their speech and debate qualified immunity to try to avoid being questioned? Not a lot of case law on that subject so that legal wrangling could go on for some time before being resolved by SCOTUS.

But note that Wolfe has not been charged with leaking classified information only with lying to the FBI. I am not of the opinion that being given "permission or instruction" by a superior to disseminate classified information gets him off of the hook, if he were.

George Papadopoulos' lies to FBI agents about his contacts with Russians during the 2016 presidential campaign impeded the investigation into Russian interference, preventing authorities from potentially arresting a witness before he left the United States, according to a Friday court filing.

"The defendant's lies to the FBI in January 2017 impeded the FBI's investigation into Russian interference in the 2016 presidential election," the sentencing recommendation from special counsel Robert Mueller says. "The defendant's lies undermined investigators' ability to challenge the Professor or potentially detain or arrest him while he was still in the United States."

The filing says investigators had located the professor in D.C. two weeks after Papadopoulos was interviewed by the FBI on Jan. 27, 2017. The professor left the U.S. on Feb. 11, 2017, and has not returned.
Quote:

Mifsud, who is not named in the court filing but has been named in news reports, introduced Papadopoulos to a Russian woman and a Russian national connected to the Russian Ministry of Foreign Affairs. Papadopoulos then communicated with the three over a period of months and discussed setting up a meeting between Russian officials and the Trump campaign.

Papadopoulos lied to investigators "on at least a dozen occasions," falsely saying he communicated with Mifsud before he joined the Trump campaign. After he hired a lawyer and met with investigator again in February 2017, Papadoplous still did not correct his false statements. Instead, he deactivated his Facebook account where he had communicated with the professor and Russian national and bought a new phone.

"The defendant's lies also hindered the government's ability to discover who else may have known or been told about the Russians possessing "dirt" on Clinton," the filing says. "Had the defendant told the FBI the truth when he was interviewed in January 2017, the FBI could have quickly taken numerous investigative steps to help determine, for example, how and where the Professor obtained the information, why the Professor provided the information to the defendant, and what the defendant did with the information after receiving it."

Wait a minute. Haven't we been told over and over that Crossfire Hurricane began in July 2016 because Papadop had a boozy conversation with Downer? And the FBI knew about Papadop since then?

But it was his January 2017 interview that impeded the investigation?? And they missed the chance to arrest and question Mifsud while he was in the States? I can't quite square that. But Mueller wants to go for the maximum sentence against him.

Exactly. Hell the FBI sent agents to his workshops over the years. He was likely more Western Intelligence than Russian.

So why would they go all out to negate the carefully crafted narrative in that blatant of a manner? Are they losing their focus?

This reminds me of a bunch of bass fishermen/women. The first liar doesn't have chance.

The issue with Mueller and his team and the FBI/DOJ is that in some form or fashion they are part of an ongoing conspiracy to provide cover for Hilary's crimes and at the same time create crimes for the POTUS and coverup their own actions.

There are at least 3 ongoing crimes being committed. Hence, the narrative has continually changed and some of the folks at the FBI/DOJ have lied to Federal Judges, Congress, and the American citizens to protect their sweet butts.

Wasn't Mifsud the one that was front and center to this briefly, then last fall, he vanished. And his family and pregnant fiance have never heard from him again?

The timeline with the beginning of this hoax is so distorted now. Papadopoulos' wife now seeking new counsel to vacate the plea. Mueller wanting to tie up the discovery. I'm betting the 20 pages Nunes wants unredacted settle all these scores.

According to the charging document Papadopoulos said that Mifsud approached him BEFORE he joined Team Trump. Mueller is claiming that was a lie by about 14 days.

Mueller's evidence came from interviews Papadopoulos had with the FBI on Jan 27th 2017, according to FBI testimony before the HSCI the F302s were solely relied on, but the sentencing document lay claim to audio video of the interview. (see footnote on page 2)

https://assets.documentcloud.org/documents/4776068/Papadopoulos-sentencing-recommendation.pdf

Out of all these 100's of interviews throughout this whole thing, never has the FBI produced or mentioned any Audio/video and in fact told Gaetz in the hearing that it wasn't the FBI's practice to ever record interviews electronically. He questioned that practice and the 302 system multiple times, and Strzok and Wray both gave the same response.

Pretty amazing how they are reportedly able to coordinate 60 signatures of former government members of the CIA to come forward in 24 hrs. The fact that they could be anyone from a cubicle analyst to a remote field agent, but they have them in the can in 24hrs. Of course you only see a handful that actually show their face in the media. The story starts with 12 that are pundits or past pundits, but by the end of the day the list is reportedly 60 names that you never fully see or ever hear from. They throw around names like Gates, and a former squid Admiral McRaven, "the man who oversaw the 2011 Navy SEAL raid that killed Osama bin Laden"; they have to quantify that letter with the Bin Laden line. He was in a situation room in Bagram Camp Alpha when Rob O'Neill put two pills in the skull of Bin Laden. We have heard from Rob O'Neill on what happened to Brennan. So from the guy who was on the 3rd floor in Abbottabad he feels differently

McRaven had an opinion piece for The Washington Post ready to go in less than 24 hrs.

Why did they want to interview him? What is so important about the timing of his meeting with the professor? Smells like he was setup to lie.

I wouldn't say set up to lie. Set up to misremember a detail. Why did they wait six months to talk to him? So he would be fuzzier on the dates, perhaps? Had they showed up at his door in late July, early August of 2016, his recollection might have been a bit crisper. (Or might not. Guy is kind of a ditz if you ask me.)

Another thing. The FBI can dispatch multiple agents to Europe to talk to Steele in 2016 but not Mifsud? The guy who was central to starting Crossfire Hurricane in the first place?

Mueller just filed a pleading that does not fit the narrative his BFF Comey nor his own investigation has put forth. So the narrative is the lie or that sentence recommendation is. Cannot be both.

Considering he was reported to have been on Hillary's short list for VP in 2016, I'd say he got the finished product via email from her staff and then was instructed to submit it under his own name.

The massive amount of corruption that he covered up while sip chancellor indicates he takes instructions well.
