aggiehawg,

Would this seal the "fruit of poisoned tree" and give cause to shutdown the `investigation'?

Not exactly "fruit of the poisonous tree" because that refers to evidence seized in an illegal search and evidence derived therefrom.

BUT, if the government was presenting or using altered or manufactured evidence in a federal court or to extract a guilty plea, or exonerate a person.

Very bad pookie. As in lose your license to practice law and possible jail time pookie.

Laura Ingram on Fox is going to update status on key DOJ documents. Should be discussing this in a moment.

Hopefully Rosenstein -- because wouldn't that be full cause to fire him?

Don't know who he is.
The only thing that was said about the documents was that there was a meeting tonight at Congress regarding them. Kind of disappointing. I thought more information was coming.

If this bears fruit and there turns out to be doctored 302's Mueller will be immediately shut down, because regardless of who did the doctoring, Mueller used them to indict people and force guilty pleas. Regardless if it was Andrew Weissmann and he kept it from Mueller, wouldn't be the first time Weissmann has done it, Mueller may end up lucky to be able to practice law, with all the other shady work they have drug into federal courts lately.

Not to mention the immediate fallout in the appellate courts, on cases that the culprits involved in the doctoring may have been involved in. And hopefully enacts the use of digitally recording all interviews, especially formal interviews in the FBI facilities, where they should be treated like any deposition and be Audio/video. This archaic 302's non-sense is just a breeding ground for mischief.

What a damn train wreck, the entire interview is comical.

This is what CNN calls serious journalism, what a joke.

And just when you thinks it's as bad as it gets MSNBC says hold my beer *****es. And they use their resident nut bag Lawrence O'Donnell to swing for the fences. More mights (mites) in that conversation than on a 1000 chickens asses.

And then MSNBC tries to follow up with something serious and it's still satire and laughable, and to try and lend it some sense of veracity they bring in Mimi Rocah & Josh Gerstein, two attorneys that can't have high hopes for a real law practice, likely just book deals and TV appearances

In the Cohen case we have a little movement, first the Order regarding the Special Master and what is deemed admissible and not subject to privilege.

What this means to Cohen is TBD, what this means to the POTUS is nothing.

Probably not. But it's absolutely mind boggling that the DOJ/FBI are STILL stonewalling OIG on releasing documents. Unbelievable.

And of course the Special Master comes with a bill for the last seven weeks work. I'll post the first and last page, if you want the full eleven I will supply a link to the album. https://postimg.cc/gallery/fzkr4d94/

And the bill for this sorting - $338,421.00

And now you know why Michael Avenatti and the stripper are down on the southern border trying to drum up some publicity, because this turd is done as far as the Avenatti sideshow. Will Cohen face some actual charges? Probably. Nothing tying to the POTUS and nothing he's going to flip over. This will turn out to be just another working case in the SDNY and Cohen will have to deal with it. But you can count on CNN and MSNBC to keep throwing in "that the pressure is mounting on Cohen and he may flip any day." just to keep the narrative. After this Tom Arnold fiasco it's easy to say they will do ANYTHING to get a headline.

This Tom Arnold thing is a fraud by the media. Passing straight total lies off as some kind of truth. It's false advertising and should be subject to civil lawsuit by the accused and by the viewers. The lies are so egregious it really feels like it ought to be criminal.

Can media be sued for false advertising, for advertising lies as truth? They are running stuff that is now just totally made up fiction. Lies of this magnitude are just evil. No other word for it. I don't know who is pulling the strings or how these reporters feel about the lies they are telling on air, but there is some serious malevolence afoot. This has gone way beyond mental disorders and confirmation biases.

The above is the beginning of a tweet thread (not on threadreader) that covers many details about the Russian document that was intercepted and which influenced Comey to make his public statement exonerating HRC in July 2016 -- it's the subject of a classified appendix to the OIG Report. If you are not familiar with the document, it supposedly was intercepted Russian intelligence that mentioned an email between Debbie W-S and a Soros operative wherein DWS revealed a communication from Lynch to Renteria that HRC was going to walk on the email-server investigation.

Here is one of the greatest contrasts in political history. On the left you have a traitor to the country and on the right you have a hero that saved the nation from the guy on the left, and all his corrupt underlings in the agency he brought shame to.

It is reasonable to ask whether President Trump is more interested in the political advantage of posing as a victim of Justice Department/FBI abuse than in exercising his legal authority to expose and address any abuse. And if the Republican Congress continues to portray the controversy as a battle only against truculent executive officials as if these officials do not have a boss it is fair to ask whether this dispute is about accountability or theater.
Agree. Congressional oversight committees are basically paper tigers with TV cameras as their only weapon. Trump could easily force the issue but hasn't. POTUS obstruction argument doesn't hold water either ...Trump could easily pick a single low-risk DOJ doc-release battle worth fighting for. Trump's failure to intercede doesn't pass the smell test.
