A little off topic but I've been wondering why Trey Gowdy is not running again and if the board thinks he is truly retiring or not. It seems like with his past and what is going on these days he would be even more driven to root out corruption and the swamp.

Gowdy's voting record and his bloviating in front of congressional panels without any results seem to suggest he is a part of the problem.

Just guessing but Paul Ryan is retiring too. Whenever I see a high profile politician that has achieved a great deal and then they take a break (to spend with family, or whatever), I speculate that sometimes they may be positioning themselves for another position, like Governor or Senator. Just a couple of months ago all the talk was of a blue wave. Now, not as much but it still could happen and it still could be rough sledding regardless, and for a politician with greater ambitions getting out while on top and in the majority (vs ending up in the minority) might look like the right move to make. (my 2 cents)

What is important about this guy? He gets the FBI/DOJ directly linked to an effort to bring down an elected President. These folks appear to have committed treason.

Kind of a big thing. It explains a lot.

So, if Trump can de-classify the document that reveals this "person", surely he has the ability to find out who he/she is?
Blow the friggin lid off this mess.

Is the FBI/DOJ still spying on Trump?

Or any other USA Agency?

Or third party foreign actors or private entity?

Quick question. USA Today ran a story about Steele saying that there was an fbi person inside Trump campaign. It was based off Simpson's testimony. I swear they retracted that right after his testimony. Am I dreaming that retraction. I thought the two things they backtracked on was dossier causing a murder and then this.

There are theories being thrown around that Manafort, Papadopoulos, Gates, and Page are all plants. Not so sure about that myself. In fact I have many doubts.

There are ties from Manafort to Halper that does back years, I'm just not buying it that Manafort is a plant or has flipped. If anything he's the only one that has given the finger to Mueller the best.

I'm still sold on Papadopoulos being a Dangle, he was such an obvious insignificant that he was an easy placement, I have no doubt he was a Dangle.

I have no doubt Page is IC, but he's off limits and gets a pass on anyone going after him. I think Page was genuinely wanting to help Trump, I think it was a cleaning for him. I think he is still trying to get so sort of balance in his life since he separated from the IC, and is just kind of doing his thing trying to get back to where he was before the IC got their hooks in him. It literally wouldn't surprise my if Page wasn't attached to IC wetwork in his past. He's quite the strange character.

I have no doubt Gates flipped, he flipped on Manafort, he has nothing to give them on Trump, but he gave Mueller leverage on Manafort. He's a definite weak link. He'll spend his life in witness protection when this is over.

A founder of the opposition research firm that compiled the controversial dossier on President Trump told Senate investigators in August that the FBI had "other intelligence" backing up claims in the dossier and that law enforcement officials had already been investigating the president's team before the dossier was completed.

In more than 300 pages of testimony released unilaterally on Tuesday by the Senate Judiciary Committee's top Democrat, Fusion GPS co-founder Glenn Simpson told investigators that the former spy who compiled the dossier told him that the FBI had an informant in the Trump campaign.

But a source close to Fusion GPS told The Hill on Tuesday that Simpson misspoke, mischaracterizing a tip that an Australian diplomat gave the bureau related to Trump campaign aide George Papadopoulos.

"Essentially what [former MI6 agent Christopher Steele] told me was they had other intelligence about this matter from an internal Trump campaign source and that that they my understanding was that they believed Chris at this point that they believed Chris's information might be credible because they had other intelligence that indicated the same thing and one of those pieces of intelligence was a human source from inside the Trump organization," Simpson said.

According to Simpson, Steele met with a bureau agent in Rome in the fall of 2016, feeling obligated to turn over the results of his research the second such meeting he had with the FBI. The first took place in first week of July, Simpson said. The bureau launched its investigation into the Trump campaign in late July, according to former FBI Director James Comey.

Simpson would not reveal the source, saying that the person would potentially face physical harm if word got out.

"People who get in the way of the Russians tend to get hurt," Simpson said.

The New York Times reported earlier this month that the FBI's attention was initially drawn to the Trump campaign's contacts with Russia not by the dossier, but by a representative of Australia's government who had met with then-Trump campaign staffer Papadopoulos. Papadopoulos, who has since pleaded guilty to charges of making false statements to the FBI, told the diplomat that Russia had political dirt on Trump's campaign rival, Hillary Clinton.

The Senate Judiciary Committee interviewed Simpson last August as part of its investigation into Russia's election interference. As Capitol Hill Republicans have hammered on the FBI's alleged use of Steele's research in its investigation as evidence of bias, Democrats have pushed for the release of the transcript. Ranking member Dianne Feinstein (D-Calif.) published the transcript Tuesday without consulting chairman Chuck Grassley (R-Iowa), who called the decision "confounding."

When you have some free time, you ought to read the transcript of Simpson's testimony before the HPSIC. Late in his testimony he goes full blown conspiracy theorist, extrapolating on all sorts of nefarious plots from fantasy land. Seemed delusional at points and made me question whether or not he is one of those intelligent paranoid schizophrenics. I wouldn't believe anything he said.

They were frothing at the mouth over the Brexit movement and Trump was a huge inspiration to the resistance to the crown. Like the elites over here, the brits royalty consider Trump beneath them, and there was now way they could let him in power because it could be the downfall of their ruse they have been bulling on the underlings in their own country. The Elites here refer to them as our closest ally. they forget that we fled those limey *******s to separate ourselves from their crap. The working class aren't enamored by their royal crap. If they don't wind up this Mueller thing pretty quick, as Kim Strassel suggested in her article, "rip off the Band-Aid." Trump should declassify every document related to Trump-Russia collusion scam. Expose these POS for who they are.

Nunes was on the transition team. What Dworkin is saying is technically true. Nunes probably is under investigation by Mueller, the DOJ, and the congressional committees just based on the fact he was on the transition.

The "stay away from them" line is just added theater for the left.

Operating under the assumption that Trump is clean, then he really has no reason to do this. It is a long 4/8 years. The investigation is not hurting his approval ratings. There are just as many "pro Trump" reports coming from this story as there are "anti Trump" reports. The longer this drags on, the worse the Dems and media look and the better Trump looks if he comes out clean.

It appears that there are many pieces of the so called "Russian collusion" narrative. The pieces appear to be part of a dynamic that has at least 2 major objectives, one take down Trump and two protect something or someone.

A question arises that asks did all this take place as a result of random and disconnected people and events coming together in the normal discourse of their jobs? Or was it at the direction and result of a person or persons trying to bring down the POTUS at any cost.

It appears that Comey and his band of keystone kops were bit players. Mueller appears to be a bit player. Rosenstein also.

Brennan and Clapper don't appear to be bit players. Neither does Obama. And Hilary and Bill. And Podesta. It appears somewhere in that group originated the idea of Russian collusion. It appears that those folks and whatever they represent are being protected.

It appears that it is not random and it has at its roots some very evil people who are willing and want to destroy our Constitution.

How far are they willing to go?

There is a level of legality to it for one reason, and they are fixing to snare a pile of bad guys in our own government, and after that, then a lot will be rolled out. The deep state has met their match.

Though by the letter of the constitution, the POTUS has ultimate document control, there are times when restraint is a must for security of the country. For instance in this document I was playing with yesterday. Notice at the top the first to redactions are their to protect a query tool in a named database, has to be protected

You have to keep in mind the myriad of data that is available to the head of the executive branch. The short answer is, "everything." They're running a counterintelligence/coup play against their boss.

I think about it like this: remember when you were a kid and you thought you were getting away with things, but when you got older it turns out your parents knew exactly what you were up to? That's what I think is going on here. Trump is just giving them all the rope they want to hang themselves.

It's actually being sped along by the reality of having to prosecute people and unfriendly judges calling bluffs.
