Let me guess, because Mueller was looking into a misdemeanor FEC violation he got Rosenstein to go along with a wiretap on a Licensed Attorney, a full blown title 3 warrant, and were able to bypass Sessions because it involved a possible Campaign violation, and Sessions has recused himself from everything except immigration, MS13 and marijuana.

I don't know what you call this logical fallacy but the idea that wiretaps/no-knock warrants/whatever are hard to get, we got one, therefore Trump must be guilty of something is getting old.

If they backtrack is because of a legal issue or narrative screwup. It certainly isn't for accuracy.

Here's my problem with how this has unfolded. Too many lies from the government.
Does anyone believe this is on the up-and-up?
- SDNY was acting on a referral from Mueller.
- Wait, no SDNY was already investigating Cohen, referral was extra
- But Rosenstein is the one signing off on the raid on an attorney's office instead of Sessions, despite Mueller's story being that the referral was out of his purview on the Russia investigation
- After the multiple raids and Cohen brings up attorney-client privilege the government justifies their actions by claiming he conducts virtually no legal business because they have been reading his various email accounts. There was already a search warrant granted for that.
- Cohen was specifically named in the Steele Dossier, just like Carter Page but no Title I FISA warrant for him?
- Now the story he was wiretapped (meaning a Title I FISA warrant, most likely) and then walked back several hours later. He's just under "regular surveillance."
- Rosenstein refuses to tell Congress, who has oversight authority, how far he has expanded Mueller's jurisdiction.

I want to actually believe the hair on my neck is they have been two hopping Cohen off of the Page title 1 and just never stopped. They never would have to justify it unless they were going to use it in a court proceedings. But someone spoke out of turn. At this point, Chief Justice Roberts should feel compelled to fire every existing DC area FISC judge and name new ones. They are irretrievably compromised.
