Grassley is going after Waldman, the Russian lobbyist who represents Deripaska and who was texting Senator Warner about Steele. Not only does he ask Waldman a batch of questions, but he has requested closed door testimony. The questions include inquiries about Dan Jones, Senator Feinstein's former aide. This is gonna be good since both Warner and Feinstein sit on the Senate Intel Committee with Grassley.

Another gem of an interview from former federal attorney Joe DiGenova. Listen to the first 9:30 minutes. There are multiple important points in this interview -- I would love to see a transcript, but the two that stand out the most to me are:

1) An initial FISA warrant application was turned down on Carter Page in June 2016. It was only after the FBI obtained the dossier were they able to pass muster on the application and obtain the warrant in October 2016. Remember McCabe's testimony that they would not have been able to obtain the FISA warrant without the dossier? The dossier was the key.

2) DiGenova says they should have a grand jury in play so that people would have to testify under subpoena. This writing letters is a waste of time; i.e., Susan Rice responded to her letter of inquiry by having her attorney send a response. Make them testify under oath.

If we had honest folks really seaking the truth maybe 100 or more folks both Rs and D's would end up in jail.

After reading that carter threadreader story I have a whole new respect for him and it still fascinates me he hasn't hired an attourney through all of this. Now, watching his manerismns and reactions it's like he's playing with them.

It's continually being updated. The threadreader stopped at tweet #98. It's now up to #129. Some additional interesting things, like he carries 2 US passports when he travels, a regular one and a special 'secret' one. He's has to be a spook.

I have submitted for an updated threadreader but it's not responding so far. Probably because the tweets are spread over too many days as the previous one was 19 days ago.

Yeah that profile on Carter Page completely shifted my view on him. The letter he wrote comey is fantastic. He very well might be on team Q.

There is something special about his passport. It's identity was redacted in the transcript of his testimony before the HPSIC. From the question asked about the Schengen Zone, I strongly suspect he possesses a 'black' passport = CIA. For info on a 'black' passport, see:

Well, this is interesting. Supposedly Carter Page worked for the Clinton transition team in 1992. This is George Webb and he's a bit controversial but he was all over the Awans even before Imran was arrested.

That's a red herring on George Webb's part. Page was a senior midshipman at the Naval Academy from 1992-93. He was selected as a Trident Scholar that year (had to be in top 10% of his class), his specialty being political science, and he was assigned to Rep Les Aspin as a mentor, Aspin being Chairman of the House Armed Services Committee. During that year Page wrote a major research paper: "Balancing Congressional Needs for classified Information: A Case Study of the Strategic Defense Initiative". Aspin was also an advisor to Clinton during the 1992 Campaign and was selected to be Sec. of Defense following the election. Page could not be a formal member of any transition team...he was a midshipman with an obligation to the US Navy...he was just assigned to perform a research project under Aspin. Following his graduation in 1993, Page was commissioned an officer in the Navy.

Thanks for the clarification, I thought '92 seemed a bit far back for Page to be involved and makes sense. Looks like George was guilty of some of the leaps of logic the media seem to make daily with Russia Russia Russia.

Also seems like Page May have some inside knowledge of GCF's politcal operations...to some extent.

Charges being dismissed, without prejudice, meaning they can be re-filed in the future. Likely a condition of his agreement to testify against Manafort. If he backs out or does not give them what he promised, i.e. strong testimony against Manafort, they re-file the charges.

Mueller is also under no obligation to ask for leniency on the sentencing for the crimes he has pled to. He's facing 5-6 years.

Yeah I get that, but I was leaning more towards they pile a plethora of garbage charges on them maybe a third of they can actually prove, knowing they would deal this guy out of having to go to trial and they knew he was vulnerable and would to keep him from having to liquidate his assets to go to trial. He must have been a minor partner to Manafort, or he squandered his money. Manafort likely has cash that Mueller has never found to fight with. Mueller is pounding his chest and looking real busy, but not really doing a lot.

I find it Humorous how Carter Page is on every talk show, podcast, anyone that will interview him, laughing his ass off, and he's the center of this entire thing, and Papadopoulos is on the side of a milk carton somewhere. The entire thing is a joke, not sure Manafort feels that way right now, but this thing is like waking up in the twilight zone. With all this shaky minuscule nick knack garbage being charged and the Clinton team breaking every federal law possible involving the handling of classified material, lying to the FBI, lying to Committee's under oath. FISA fraud, money laundering in the Clinton Foundation, it's just unbelievable to my feeble brain. In my career I've worked a few corruption cases in state level stuff, and this is top shelf corruption. Billy Sol was an amateur compared to these guys.

If he has moved to dismiss, there will be no sentencing, as I understand it. The case goes away with no penalty. Sweet deal Gates negotiated.

It is curious that Carter Page, for all of his supposedly centrality to the FISA warrant has not been charged with anything.

- Is he a totally innocent goof ball? Meaning the Russians tried to recruit him and he is either clueless or acted dumb (hence the Russian description of him being an idiot)?
- Was he a double naught spy helping the US government in Russia?
- Is he just a scapegoat to get a FISA warrant to spy on Trump? If so why did they spy on him starting after he was separated from the Trump campaign? Why was the warrant renewed 3 more times if he had nothing to do with the Trump campaign or administration?
- Did they find some dirt on someone else via the eaves-dropping on Carter Page?
- He sure as hell doesn't act guilty, he talks to whomever will listen on any and all media.

Something isn't adding up to me. My point is, if he was really guilty of something they would have charged him already. Any ideas?

Isn't one of the charges against him that he lied to the investigators?

How does that make him a good witness when you're saying you can prove he's a liar?
