I need one of our legal scholars to interpret the legalese in this document:

https://www.gpo.gov/fdsys/pkg/CRPT-115hrpt504/pdf/CRPT-115hrpt504.pdf

From what I understand they are trying to curtail the powers of FISA section 702. Is that correct?

For reference that resolution was on January 10th agenda for the House Subcomittee to amend the White Mountain Apache Tribe Water Rights Quantification Act of 2010 to clarify the use of amounts in the WMAT Settlement Fund:

Gowdy is something else now. He's all over the map, as he readily admits in the interview.

He's part Jimmy Stuart-Mr. Smith and part DJT-Art of the Deal. He will factor heavily, one way or the other, in what happens in the next few months.

Okay according to Schiff yesterday and now confirmed today by Nunes there was a footnote entry on the FISA warrant stating that it was a possible that the Dossier was a political document. No details about that it was an opposing political candidate, and for certain not the actual parties that paid for it.

Correct. So no mention that it was paid for by the Democrats. That's a key point.

The FISA court should have been told regardless.

The key here IMO is whether McCabe truly said that the warrant would never have been sought without the dossier.

There are times when any human would have to wonder if a college diploma is worth the money spent, when those types of responses are regurgitated. If the Reps screw up, which happens often, fine. Quote:

A newly released document from the Senate Judiciary Committee says Christopher Steele, the former British spy who compiled the Trump dossier, wrote an additional memo on the subject of Donald Trump and Russia that was not among those published by BuzzFeed in January 2017.

The newly-released document is an unclassified and heavily redacted version of the criminal referral targeting Steele filed on Jan. 4 by Republican Sens. Chuck Grassley, of Iowa, and Lindsey Graham, of South Carolina. It appears to confirm some level of coordination between the extended Clinton circle and the Obama administration in the effort to seek damaging information about then-candidate Trump.

According to the referral, Steele wrote the additional memo based on anti-Trump information that originated with a foreign source. In a convoluted scheme outlined in the referral, the foreign source gave the information to an unnamed associate of Hillary and Bill Clinton, who then gave the information to an unnamed official in the Obama State Department, who then gave the information to Steele. Steele wrote a report based on the information, but the redacted version of the referral does not say what Steele did with the report after that.

Sadly, when you view the actual Grassley document where he makes the criminal referral -- available in the article -- it is so heavily redacted that it's hard to make much sense of it. All this redaction crap...there had better be a good reason, such as an investigation and grand jury leading to an indictment of Steele. I am becoming very weary of the FBI brass trying to cover their tails.

You can make your own judgement, but IMO this article is just a speculation and not a good one...for the simple reason that we already know Simpson & the Ohrs were friends well before the plot evolved. Nellie Ohr was part of the plot, the pipeline between Fusion GPS & the DOJ as well as a collaborator with Steele (all Nellie's opposition research has already been turned over to the FBI per the Memo). Sure, she was paid, part of sharing the spoils coming from HRC & the DNC for her work, but the payola wasn't used to buy access to the DOJ...it already existed. Maybe it's just semantics on my part.

To think that unverified claims, gossip, media reports and generally salacious political opposition research, could be included in an application to remove an American's right to privacy and liberty is really the BIGGER story being clouded in this discussion.

.And keep in mind, amid all of this exhaustive FBI surveillance and DOJ national security division digging into every aspect of his life, Mr. Carter Page has never been accused of any crime, wrongdoing, or subsequent criminal conduct.

It appears the entire reason to label Mr. Page as a Title One "foreign agent" was so the DOJ National Security Division and FBI Counterintelligence Division, could use Mr. Page's short contact with the Trump campaign as an excuse to monitor everyone else within the campaign before, during and after the election.
Most important aspect of this
