I've seen commentary that likely the DOJ also will file a motion objecting to Sullivan granting the submission of amicus briefs. If you read the above motion by Sidney, she lists all the times Sullivan denied amicus briefs during the course of this trial.

The man was deceived and manipulated by malicious prosecutors and Partisan elements in the DOJ. He made a couple of serious errors in the process of the case as well. He's then had to deal with an aggressive defense counsel that is eliminating all options to make this case go away quietly with some sort of compromise. He is looking for an out that doesn't damage his reputation and he seems to be misplacing his faith in a Hail Mary appeal to extremely partisan Dems politicians who apparently have effectively whispered in his ear with public statements and leaks that somehow there is still a case for guilt. He's looking for cover.

I had a lawsuit in front of Sullivan once, but he's tough on agencies in general and I was suing one so I was glad to draw him at the time.

He's actually quite conservative and was a Reagan appointee

I don't know his reasons but I highly doubt they were political. I was suing Obama's CMS administration and he ruled against them with vigor. Took them to task several times throughout the process.

Admittedly, I'm just a ordinary layman with no legal background but in the eyes of this poster...our judicial system appears about as "fair" and "just" as the Inquisition, Nazis Germany and back-alley, crap games. Lady Justice ain't blind and suspiciously smells of being bought and paid for by the highest bidder.

No longer sure that it deserves our respect.

So entrapment into a coerced guilty plea cannot be undone??? What the hell kind of bull**** is that. I get courts not wanting to backtrack, but from everything explained here a lot of the actions of the prosecutors at the DOJ and the FBI agents and evidence appear to have been gathered/pursued in an unethical manner. Maybe a few things would go far as illegal.

They are making an absolute mockery of our justice system and our constitution; everything this country was founded on. I believe Sullivan accused Flynn of treason at some point. Well considering Flynn is a ******* hero who has been put through absolute hell at the hands of the DOJ FBI and intelligence agencies Sullivan was just taking Dem talking points. Seems to me Sullivan is the one closer to treason by not upholding the rule of law in his court.

He may be interested in appointing counsel, in place of the government, more than the briefs. It's insane he is so crooked but that is less 'out there' than just taking amicus and sentencing Flynn.

To the lawyers: any chance it makes a difference that sullivan and eric holder are old friends? What about holder's potential role as a partner in the law firm that originally represented Flynn (and in an unethical manner)? What I'm asking is do you think it's possible these are factors influencing sullivan.
