To think that I was alone for minutes with the Mandalay Bay assassin! Makes me nervous to know that I was his waiter in the same suite where it happened. You don't know who you're working with in this job.

$85 for that meal?? That's a crime against humanity.
Oh man, the breakfast buffet alone is $25 flat rate where I normally stay in Vegas. I fill my tote bag with apples and bananas and stuff on my way out while juggling 2 coffees to try and get half my money's worth.

Just looking at the order it does seem like a meal for two. Maybe he had an escort in the room but who buys an escort room service?

Motive!

I know bad joke.

Due to the guys lack of Internet history, the fact he seemed something of a loner in his personal life, I think what will be interesting how and what they do derive of as motive.

If he was not radicalized (I put that at 1%)
Not suffering money issues (it is obvious he was not)
Has not been ranting and raving to his neighbors....

it will be very vexing if the authorizes cannot find something definitive as to his motive. Other than to cause death and mayhem

I saw his brother estimated his real estate deals netted him 2,000,000 (brother was partner, he would know), yet he talks about the how rich his brother made him and his mom like it's a much higher number. He also talks about his brother being a high roller.. I'm sorry but an IRS auditor, mail carrier, and Lockheed internal auditor + 2,000,000 simply doesn't sound sufficient when he owns planes, gambles a reported 5 figures a day, and has like 4 houses. That's where I'm still stuck in all this. Where is the money coming from? Could be an innocent source, but I don't buy the current set of facts.
1. The aircraft are a $15-$25k C152 and a $70-$100k Bellanca Viking. You don't have to be a millionaire to own either, or both. Not sure of the full ownership history.

2. $10k a day in action really isn't much, and definitely not a "whale." You win some, and you lose some.

3. I'm not sure of the exact timeline of real estate holdings, but if it was prior to 2009 when he got in, when we were ramping up for the housing meltdown, then leveraging to snag up real estate wasn't too out of the ordinary. Lots of $$$ being made at the time in real estate.

A lot still stinks about it, but we'll have to wait and see what details come out that better portray who this dude was and why he is such a piece of *****
If you are worth millions ($3+ million) and know you are going to die in a month or two, why wouldn't you liquidate your hard assets and gamble a helluva lot more than $10,000 a day? That's only $300,000 for a month. You've got 10x that much money. Then transfers $100,000 to the Philippines? As if that's a lot of money for someone with $3+ million. Makes no sense.

Doesn't add up. I'd bet he wasn't nearly as rich as his lying brother says. Probably was leveraged up to his ass and net worth was a lot less than 'multi millions'.

Besides all that, very very few gamblers win consistently except poker players (not video poker) and sports bettors. All the games are rigged against you. Math and long term odds aren't fooled by the occasional win. Over time, all gamblers lose.

The guy was probably not using a home computer for his internet access. Every public library has internet and computers. He probably went there to research stuff like guns etc. anyone with half a brain would do that instead of accessing websites that might be monitored by the authorities.

His brother said the $100,000 transfer wasn't weird to him because he that's who he is, he takes care of people he cared and it it wasn't a lot of money to him, "He puts that much through a machine in a day."

Wonder if the thing next to the note is one of those fat pens for people with arthritis.

The tube on the ground could be one of those corrugated oxygen tubes.

He was on Valium.

He could have been in a pretty fragile health state, hence why the shooting only lasted 9 minutes. He could have been exhausted.

Maybe the lady warning people was some kind of caretaker.

Just wondering aloud

I haven't been through all the prior pages, so this may have been answered. What's the explanation for how he got all the gear up to the room over the several days he was in? I assume he didn't have house cleaning or room service enter the room else they surely would have seen something...unless that suite has a giant closet.

It was a giant suite, it's not at all unimaginable that he had the weapons broken down into suitcases and brought them up in the previous days, and stored them in various places in the suite.

Multiple trips in luggage? No one knows as they have not released any videos. Also, he could have easily kept the 20+ guns in one of the two bedrooms before pulling out for use, so in theory the room service could have been in the main room.

Conspiracy theories aside, if the LVPD and FBI cannot get it accurate that he indeed did check in on 9/25 and then got the adjoining room days later, then how can you trust them to get the gritty details correct? I mean, check in date is about as easy as it gets.

1. In what world does $68.00 (subtotal) + $6.43 (tax) + $10.00 (tip) = $84.33? (math wrong on register?)

2. $68 * 15% = $10.20

What is wrong here?

Con man. Learned the trade from his dad. Would be easy to verify -- just review his tax returns. If he made millions and there is no tax trail, then he is a con man.... or a bank robber.

i don't get why people are so hung up on how he got the guns up to the room. he was there for multiple days and he's at the mandalay bay, there's got to be 10+ entrances to the place and literally thousands of people moving through each day. its not like he was carrying 15 bags through the lobby of a freaking residence inn on the morning of.

"Most humans" don't tip thanks to socialist governments. And the service in those countries is reflective of that type of society.

Earlier in this thread you were complaining that he wasted money by booking the hotel room for longer than a day, now you're complaining that he was too frugal and didn't tip enough?

Wife and I both get comps which casinos won't let you combine. Sometimes(depending on the dates)they will only comp us 2 nights in a row. If we stay longer, the room is in my name for 2 nights and hers for the next 2. I've stayed in casinos plenty of times with the room in someone else's name. The video should prove when he got there which we haven't seen yet.

I think it's because the best motive the media can come up with is "lunatic snaps" which makes folks believe he acted irrationally.

The idea that it was planned means he had a reason behind this. It wasn't just impulse

The first was under the assumption he was a local and/or degenerate gambler that would likely look for best deals. Now we know he is a millionaire and gets $10 bottles of water, the dude was far from frugal.

Do you get charged a double room rate, or is there a set price?
Where we stay we are comped for a suite, so no. I have 12 nights at The Venetian, 8 at the Wynn, and 3 at Bellagio. Except for the resort fee, I haven't paid for a room in close to eight years. I gamble a lot, and if you eat at the restaurants at the resort shop at the resort you get points. 80% of the shopping I do for clothes is in Vegas.

The thing is those numbers rarely change, although I would like to bump up The Wynn.
