Didn't this happen to another shooter? Pulse? Chatanooga? The California shooter? One of them "the wife was in custody" then next you hear she is outside our jurisdiction.
The wife of the Orlando shooter left the country after the shooting, IIRC. Unsure whether she snuck out or was allowed to leave by the feds.

It would make sense if "out of the country" was code for advanced interrogation at Gauntanamo.

Multiple news outlets were reporting she was in custody around 3:45am.

Yeah, what kind of a crazy person who intends to die Sunday night doesn't keep his refrigerator fully stocked and acquire an appropriate amount of knick-knacks for his home? Doesn't he care what the police will think of him when they come over??

People who plan on atrocities (weeks of planning) don't usually "have dry cleaning to pick up" after the date of the big day.

I'm just saying there are clues to their state of mind.

A lot of somethings just don't add up. Unfortunately, they didn't add up at Columbine or Sandyhook either.

Completely out of the news in 3 days, give or take.
"If you will not fight for right when you can easily win without blood shed; if you will not fight when your victory is sure and not too costly; you may come to the moment when you will have to fight with all the odds against you and only a precarious chance of survival. There may even be a worse case. You may have to fight when there is no hope of victory, because it is better to perish than to live as slaves." - Sir Winston Churchill

Left media is happy Scalise didn't die to be made a martyr, left media is sad that they had to cover the story of his return reminding the public of the event.

Actually, they did...

The signs were there...Columbine parents disregarded them...Sandy Hook shooter's mom knew something was wrong...

right, and can you believe he might have spent an extra one or two hundred dollars to lock in a certain room?

Sigh. A CHL is not expected to stop something like this.

Also, why do people jump to gun control. Why not talking about what we can do for the people behind the gun? Institutionalized mental health reform should be where the conversation starts.

I mean. Honestly...I think it's because it is "simpler" to blame the guns and say "take them away" rather than taking a hard look at a complicated issue like mental health and mental health institutions. It's harder to look at these shooters and say "how could we have helped them". It is simpler to say "that guy is evil" every single time and try to limit the damage. Though not every person who needs mental help ends up killing people, we could help more people and prevent many more tragedies by having better solutions...it's just a much more complicated situation than "blame the guns"

IF she was indeed his girlfriend, and they spent their time together, then she knew/knows about this IMO......and that makes her guilty as h3ll. Convenient to be not out of town, but out of the country, during this.

Just like the San Bernardino male terrorist. His family knew he was making bombs in the garage and what he was preparing and did nothing to stop/report it. GUILTY

This is true as well.

But honestly, I think looking at the human element of these things is so much more difficult to people to bear. They don't want to think about the man, his family, his struggles or pain.

I know nothing about *this* shooter..and clearly we don't know much yet either. I'm just looking at all this "take the guns" talk and I remember that it takes a muscle to pull the trigger. What motivated him and how do we prevent people from feeling like that is their solution?

It doesn't. I posted as there is misinformation being spread through media reports and interviews. One case, specifically, was a phone interview with Kaya Jones an entertainer who was backstage moments before. Her statement was that this had to be planned well in advance because you don't just get those types of rooms.
I am not saying it wasn't premeditated, only that it is inaccurate to say he couldn't have got a room like that last minute.

If he was a frequent gambler, as reported, and his girlfriend was also a VIP (Platinum member), it is likely he could have called his casino host on Tuesday/Wednesday and booked a suite specifically asking for a room with a view of the concert venue. The host wouldn't have even thought twice about doing so before the events last night.

Nope. That doesn't make any more sense than gun control as a "solution" to issues like this.

Just as "gun control" measures under serious discussion would not involve the police/military kicking down your door to take your guns, they also wouldn't involve people coming to your door to see if you were about to go off your rocker and kill a bunch of people, unless you gave them a reason to suspect that you would.

Whether or not a policy is a good idea is not determined by whether it would stop any specific event.

Because for weak minded people, it is the easiest thing to grab onto in an effort to find comfort.

Of course, libs do it because they want to disarm the population.

She said security booted her and a guy. If she had nothing to do with it and was just randomly yelling, how sadly coincidental would that have been?

They said she was a little Hispanic lady right? Maybe housekeeping trying to warn people but scared to go to the cops for fear of deportation? More likely just a coincidence.

I saw a view of what looked to be someone posting a clip from mandalay bay towards the concert venue shortly after it the shooting started. The number of bodies on the ground not moving (mostly in the front few rows) was chilling.

I never really cared for Jason Aldean and this moment doesn't move the needle either way. However, a lot of people are calling him out for not at least warning the crowd before running away. Any comments on this aspect?

We barely know anything about him, obviously we don't know these things yet.

Would you rather more investment in having more access and help for people in need of this sort of thing (which may not fix this problem, but would probably prevent a lot of the smaller murder/suicide events) or cry out "take the guns" ?

That's my point. Its more complicated to try to understand a man and solve his problems than to condemn him and steal his tools.
