That would be a room of extra work. Plus that would require them to break and redo seals that aren't leaking.
I'm assuming your concern is air leakage since it rains like 2 days a year in Vegas.

A beacon overlooking the strip that says, "MASS MURDERER SHOT FROM HERE"

OR

The potential of having to reseal 2 windows on the back side of the hotel... likely replaced from a maintenance closet or 7th floor .

And you are going with the Beacon? Good, because MB appears to agree.

Lol Mandalay Bay can't afford $5K to make those windows blend in.

thats a great breakdown of the entire timeline....

really shows how the different views heard the shots differently and even echoes, also different when firing inside. it's really incredible it wasn't much much worse. with all the ammo he had if he had continued firing just one after the other nonstop it would have been 5-10x as bad. The presence of security and cops closing in really seems to be what distracted him between rounds of fire more than switching guns/ammo or changing windows.

And as the crowd got chances to disperse and evacuate between rounds that made the targets much less dense for him to fire into.

lining up the timing on all those different videos was pretty impressive.

VIDEO: Leaked Las Vegas SWAT Audio Indicates Police Gunned Down Stephen Paddock in Hotel

A raw and chilling audio feed leaked from Las Vegas Metro SWAT confirms officers did engage in gunfire after breaching Las Vegas shooter Stephen Paddock's hotel suite, directly contradicting FBI and police claims that Paddock killed himself.

According to the newly leaked audio, Paddock was likely gunned down by LVMPD's elite "Zebra Unit" SWAT force. A SWAT officer code named "Zebra20" and apparent leader of the team's strike force who led the raid on Paddock's Mandalay Bay suite reported on police radio that one member of his team did open fire inside Paddock's room.

"We have one SWAT officer that did fire," the SWAT strike force team leader said, according to the audio transcript. (Listen to the SWAT audio in the above video)

Zebra20 then reported no other people were injured during the breach, alluding Paddock was the sole casualty.
"We just have one suspect down at this point in time," he said.

The events which unfolded during the Oct. 1 massacre per LVMPD's Zebra Unit SWAT force directly contradict the official narrative delivered since the shooting by Clark County Sheriff Joseph Lombardo and the FBI's Aaron Rouse who heads the Bureau's Las Vegas field office.

To wit, both law enforcement entities have vehemently stated Paddock killed himself before police breached and reached his room. No shots were fired, Lombardo has stated.
The new audio, however, clearly proves that was not how things went down on the 32nd Floor of Mandalay Bay.

Did Lombardo and Rouse outright fabricate the narrative in Paddock's hotel room? The SWAT-linked audio tape would strongly indicate their collaborated yet uncorroborated story that Paddock committed suicide is pure fiction.

If these law enforcement entities worked so hard to manufacture a bogus back story about Paddock's death, what else are officials hiding from the public?

There are no shortage of glaring inconsistencies and unanswered questions stemming from the official narrative and time line if the shooting, which changed daily for weeks.

Now the leaked audio transcript, for the first time, serves as rock-solid evidence that officials likely have been lying to the public.

LVMPD's Zebra Team is comprised of 40 elite members on the police department, a law enforcement source said. Zebra20, who relayed the scene from Paddock's room to the dispatcher at "Control," is a long time veteran of the police force and SWAT unit, sources said.

Lombardo did not return request for comment.

FBI did not return request for comment

I have copied the entire article, but you have to go to the link to watch the video -- the audio recording is played during the video so you can hear for yourself.

I've heard it none of that proves they shot him.

the dude that fired could have panicked and fired a shot anywhere. it doesn't say he shot the suspect.

Saying one down is true regardless of whether they shot him or he shot himself and was down. It's a way of identifying the situation and the number involved....had they encountered more (which they did not know at the time) you would have head further descriptions....

like X number down, X number engaged, trapped, isolated or fleeing, etc.

Yep, what I was thinking. And under the circumstances, the officer could have entered room, saw suspect on floor with gun in hand, and fired center mass only to be sure suspect was dead. Would explain why some thought they saw blood on Paddock's chest.

Yep...not to mention the guy reporting it who knows what he saw he could have been the 12th guy through the door and it was over.

He might have heard a shot from outside the room, then seen the guy down when he entered and assumed....

Saying we have one suspect down would also apply to finding a person post suicide, not just shooting a person.

They aren't in a movie, shoot the killer and make sure it's dead.

Seems like good police work to me. It already came out that as soon as they entered the room they shot a burst of rounds into the chest cavity (or at least it was talked about on here).

I'm just about ready to add this one to the extremely long list of things that are questionable at best from a government that has systematically covered up many, many things over the last century or so. We are just supposed to blindly accept this narrative when we don't even have a credible theory yet to motive, a timeline that has changed more than 3 times, etc....and all of this in a city that's been crooked since inception?

I guess more than anything else, this stuff just shocks me. The reason why is that I simply don't see how there are so many hardcore liberals (or conservatives) that fully buy into our government anymore. Like how do you look at the ever-growing list of events that we simply can't treat the government's accounts of events as unquestionable fact and then go regurgitate the latest NPR story, drool and get erect watching CNN or Fox, etc.?

This event has simply pushed me towards buying more guns personally...and even less faith in this federal government.

Soap box over.

They've been saying that a handful of first responders formed an impromptu SWAT Team to breach Paddock's room because the actual LVMPD SWAT Team wasn't there.

Now there's audio of the LVMPD SWAT breaching the room?

There are so many questions in that audio. First, no one knows what Zebra is. Zebra is law enforcement phonetic alphabet like ZULU is to the military. Zebra could be a zone of the city classified as "Z" and the number is Officer so and so in that zone.

Second, they ask Zebra to contact SWAT1 who is likely the commanding SWAT officer on a scene someplace. Of course SWAT was mobilized however no one knows if the team that breached was a full team or AD hoc. It could have been three SWAT guys and 5 patrol officers.

So what if they fired? There is a high likelihood there was a small exchange of fire and Paddock killed himself.

Still crazy to me that it has been 3 weeks and still not 1 security camera photo of him anywhere in that week leading up to the shooting.

As a matter of fact, there seem to only be 3-4 pictures of this guy anywhere on the internet.

And this is the place that would have hours of video from several different angles of anyone walking into that casino just to take a leak.

Quote:

DEA Wiretap Led to Investigation of Las Vegas Shooter Stephen Paddock

After turning up on a federal wiretap, accused Las Vegas shooter Stephen Paddock was investigated by the Drug Enforcement Administration, according to federal law enforcement sources.

These revelations have never been divulged by FBI officials working the Paddock case who maintain he was an affluent professional gambler who apparently had no apparent motive for the Oct. 1 massacre in Las Vegas.

The truth appears to be far more complicated than the government's official narrative about how Paddock lived and earned his comfortable living.

Here is what we have gleaned from law enforcement sources who are NOT directly linked to the sham active Las Vegas probe of Paddock:
  • Paddock had a number of cell phones acquired and linked to numbers in Los Angeles, CA.
  • From what we can ascertain on or about 2013 one on the LA-based numbers linked to Paddock turned during a DEA wiretap.
  • That phone was reportedly an AT&T Mobility phone.
  • After tracing the phone to Paddock, DEA agents delved into his finances and background.
  • DEA agents pinpointed a high number of federal Suspicious Activity Reports (SAR) linked to Paddock's bank transactions, including large wire amounts.
  • A number of such wires were from shell companies without an official brick-and-mortar presence in any domicile.
  • A number of SARs involved offshore wires coming into Paddock's U.S. accounts.
  • Paddock may have maintained at least one offshore bank account.
  • Paddock subscribed to different cell phones in different U.S. cities from different cellular phone carriers.
  • A number of those phones are now in the possession of the FBI lab in Virginia.

It is not apparent whether Paddock was the primary target of a DEA investigation or whether he was part of any pending case. Sources would not disclose the status or exact case linked to Paddock or whether any probe was ongoing.

The Financial Crimes Enforcement Network (FinCEN) warehouses SARs which are forwarded to Treasury from financial institutions for transactions in the United States and globally. The SARs are triggered by anti-money laundering safeguards. These reports are confidential.

Maybe something. His finances remain a mystery.

When the FBI started acting funny with this investigation I thought to myself that the shooter was on someones radar and that they knew about him before. I know it is a leap to think the DEA and FBI worked together, but chalk it up as another puzzling piece in this horror show.

Laptop recovered from Las Vegas shooter's hotel room missing its hard drive

A laptop computer recovered from the Las Vegas hotel room where Stephen Paddock launched the deadliest mass shooting in U.S. history was missing its hard drive, depriving investigators of a potential key source of information on why he killed and maimed so many people, ABC News has learned.

Paddock is believed to have removed the hard drive before fatally shooting himself, and the missing device has not yet been recovered, sources told ABC News.

Investigators digging into Paddock's background also learned he purchased software designed to erase files from a hard drive, but without the hard drive to examine it is impossible to know if he ever used the software, one source said.

The absence of substantial digital clues has left investigators struggling to piece together what triggered Paddock to kill 58 innocent concertgoers and injure more than 500 others on Oct. 1.
