What do you Bible scholors think about this article? The copy follows:
In years past I have always been interested in prophecy. I spent time reading the Bible and other books, but like most people I never really understood what a lot of it meant. Having grown up believing in the pre-Tribulation theory I figured that it didn’t make much difference. Please understand this letter is not a debate about whether there is a pre-Trib, mid-Trib, post-Trib, etc. But some things that I read in the Bible about prophecy didn’t make much sense. For example there are many references that the saints/elect would be completely fooled by the Antichrist and follow him in the Tribulation. I also could never find a direct statement in the Bible talking about the pre-Tribulation rapture.
In August 2005 I retired for the third or fourth time from all my labors. I decided that I was going to spend full time studying everything I could about future events. Since August I have averaged about 20-35 hours a week reading many books and searching the internet for any information I could find on the subject. In fact I wrote a 75-page outline to me so I could remember my facts since my memory is not what it was a few years ago.
In November 2005 I finally felt that I understood about as much as I could about the Old Testament and New Testament prophecies and in particular the Book of Revelation. It all seems to make sense to me now. But my problem was that I wondered what was happening today. There must be events leading up to the Tribulation period because it was not just going to start at the flip of a switch.
One morning I was having devotions and I prayed about this issue, asking the Lord to help me to find out about current events. Within minutes my mind starting thinking about references to enter into Google that I had not used before. In the next 24 hours a new world opened up around me and I realized that the world was leading us into the Tribulation period and I was not aware of it. The following is not an attempt to predict when the Tribulation is going to start or to accuse anyone of being the Antichrist. I am going to give you the facts that I have found about current events and what the Bible says and let you decide for yourself. What I am going to point out to you will make some people very nervous, but these are the facts and you can research on the internet for yourself. At the end of the letter I will give you Google references that you can search yourself if you are so inclined.
Let me start by introducing you to Javier Solana.
Born in Madrid, Spain, in 1942.
Doctorate in Physics from University of Virginia
Fulbright Scholar.
Taught at the University of Virginia.
Joined the Spanish Socialist Party in 1974.
Elected to Spanish Parliament in 1977.
Spanish Cabinet Minister 1982 to 1995.
December 1982 to July 1988, Spanish Minister for Culture.
July 1985 to July 1988, Official Spanish Government spokesman.
July 1988 to July 1992, Spanish Minister for Education and Science.
July 1992 to December 1995, Spanish Minister for Foreign Affairs.
December 1995 to October 1999, Elected Secretary General NATO.
October 1999 to present:
Elected Secretary General European Union. 1999.
Head of the EU Common Foreign and Security Policy Council.
Responsible for security and peace agreements.
Responsible for creation of the European Neighborhood Policy.
November 2000 to present.
Elected Secretary General of the Western EU (WEU).
Responsible for creating a peacekeeping force by 2010.
Javier Solana currently holds both positions.
If you go on the internet using his name you will find out very quickly that he is a brilliant and well- respected name in the European Community for negotiations. There are many agreements that he negotiated, many of which people said were impossible, but he completed them.
Now let me talk more specifically about the European Union (EU). The EU has developed from the Oslo peace agreement signed in September 1993. It was later updated at the Barcelona Declaration Meeting of 1995. The organization floundered around until 1999 when they elected Javier Solana as Secretary General of the EU. Today it has 15 full members (countries) and 30 lesser members and is a financial presence in Europe. It is attempting to create a free trading zone encompassing all of Europe. It wants to break down borders and trade barriers and create a USA of Europe. Javier Solana has put himself in charge of two of the most powerful committees within the EU.
Many smaller countries wanted to join the EU but could not because of their limited financial resources. Javier Solona then created the European Neighborhood Policy (ENP). The policy stated that the EU wanted to offer these countries a privileged relationship with the EU but not a full membership. Each country would work with the EU to complete an association action agreement for development of their individual countries. The action plan (5-year time limit) must address financial/educational and military security issues designed to meet the needs of each country. The EU will fund activities including the training of military personnel to secure the borders. When the action plan is completed, submitted to and approved by the EU, each country will sign a European Neighborhood Partnership Instrument (ENPI). All ENPI’s will start on January 1, 2007, for a period of 7 years. At the 3 ½-year point all ENPI’s for each country will be reviewed by Javier Solana and his committee to see how the financial/educational and peacekeeping (military) process is working out. They will then make changes as necessary.
The Bible tells much about the final years before the Tribulation starts. First the organization from which the Antichrist comes:
Daniel 2: 40-44. Divided kingdom partly strong (iron) and partly clay (weak).
In Nebuchadnezzar’s statue dream, the legs of iron represent the Eastern and Western
Divisions of the Roman Empire. The iron (Roman Empire) continues to the 10 toes
(kingdoms) where the iron (strong nations) is mixed with clay (weak nations).
European Union. (EU)
Full members (15):
Austria, Belgium, Denmark, France, Finland, Germany, Greece, Italy, Ireland,
Luxembourg, Sweden, Portugal, Spain, the Netherlands, and Great Britain.
Affiliate Members (15):
Associate members of the EU (15) including Israel.
The Implementation of the European Neighborhood Policy plans and Association Agreements was created for weaker nations that could not financially support full membership.
Western European Union (WEU), the military branch of the EU.
Not all members of the European Union are members of the Western European Union.
Member states of the WEU (10):
Belgium, France, Germany, Greece, Italy, Luxembourg, Netherlands, Portugal, Spain,
and the United Kingdom. These countries are all part of the original Roman Empire.
There are 18 associate members/partners of the WEU.
Daniel 9:27. He shall make a covenant with many nations for 7 years and break
it in the middle of those years.
Isaiah 28:14–18. They (Israel) will sign a covenant with death. Isaiah 28:14 -18.
Israel completed an Action Plan with Javier Solana in December 2004. The EU (many nations) approved this action plan in February 2005. The Israeli Government approved the final action plan November 2005. Part of the action plan requires the signing of an ENPI document to get the funding. All ENPI documents cover the 7-year EU budget period of 2007-2013. There will be a mid-term review. Israel at this point in time has not signed the 7-year ENPI agreement.
What does the Bible say about the Antichrist?
Rev. 13:18. His number is “666”
EU Article 666 called for the election of Javier Solana as high representative for
the EU Security Policy.
EU Recommendation 666 allowed Javier Solana special powers to organize and
control the military in case of emergency.
Daniel 8:9-11. He will grow great towards the East and the South.
Javier Solana wrote the document called “The purpose of the European Neighbourhood Policy.” The first statement says, “The European Neighbourhood Policy is a new policy that invites our neighbours to the East and to the South to share in the peace, stability and prosperity that we enjoy in the European Union.” If you look at the map of the area you will see that almost all of these countries are to the east and to the south of the EU member countries.
Daniel 8:25. He shall use peace as a means to destroy many.
Since 1995 he has been the major person in many peace agreements. He was put in this
position because EU felt he had a very strong political profile.
He has organized peace agreements for Russia, Ukraine, various Mediterranean countries
and the Western Balkans.
Today in Europe he is respected as the top peacemaker in the world.
Currently he is involved in getting other countries to sign EU action agreements.
All ENPI agreements are to be confirmed and go to effect on January 1, 2007, for a period
of 7 years.
Javier Solana on Nov. 28, 2005, submitted a report stating that 10 more Middle East countries
had signed an association action agreement during 2005: Algeria, Egypt, Israel, Jordan,
Lebanon, Morocco, the Palestinian Authority, Syria, Tunisia and Turkey.
Currently he has 15 nations that have signed an association action agreement.
Javier Solana now controls the peacemaking committee and the committee to build
a military machine for the EU by 2010.
Daniel 9:26. He shall be a prince of the people.
His title is the High Representative of the EU and the Secretary General of the WEU
(EU military force).
He has the strongest profile and personality as a peacemaker in Europe and the USA. He
brokered many peace agreements even though some have fallen through.
Initially Israel would not talk to the EU, but in recent days Ariel Sharon trusted him and
signed on to the ENP as a associate member.
Daniel 11:28. He shall honor the God of Forces.
When he was Secretary General of NATO in 1995:
He was the only SG to have power to use force.
He sent bombers to break up a Yugoslavia revolt.
Since then the power has been shifted to a committee.
He brokered an agreement with Russia over the future NATO expansion into
former Soviet satellite countries after NATO said it would be impossible to do it.
As head of the WEU (EU military arm), he is allowed to deploy troops anyplace within
the 25-30 countries.
In 2004 he was appointed head of the European Defense Agency, whose purpose is to
coordinate and streamline the military of all the EU members.
Daniel 11:37. He shall not regard the God of his father.
He claims that he is not Jewish.
His grandfather was Jewish and worked for the League of Nations.
His grandfather wrote a book on the history of Jews in Spain.
His grandfather also wrote about the history about Christopher Columbus, saying he
was Jewish.
Daniel 8:25. He will cause deceit (craft) to prosper in his hand.
He has devised the implementation of financial incentives to weaker countries in exchange
for cross-border security. While the association action plans do not mention any
military buildup, he is in charge of building the military arm for the EU. To get funds
from the EU they have to sign the European Neighborhood Partnership Instrument
(ENPI) which says they will agree to the policies of the EU and WEU.
Daniel 7:24. He will subdue 3 kingdoms.
Currently the 3 strongest nations in the European Union are England, France and Germany.
They are against many of his polices because they feel he has too much power. Some of
these countries have not changed to the euro currency. While they belong to the EU,
they are very vocal about many of Javier Solana’s polices. If Javier Solana is to control
the EU, he will have subdue the power of these 3 countries. This does not mean war
against these 3 nations. He could politically reduce their influence.
Daniel 7:25. Rev 13:5. He will be an intellectual capable of speaking great Words.
If you go to the internet and read some of his press conferences you will quickly see he
has all the answers. For example, when asked, “How can these countries agree to have
a military force when they have agreements with other countries not to have a military
force?” he replied, “We are not creating armies; we are creating peacekeeping forces
for humanitarian and rescue tasks, and crisis management purposes.”
Henry Kissinger on June 29, 2004, said that when he wants to call Europe he has only
one telephone number. That number is the number of the most powerful man in
Europe, Javier Solana.
There are other biblical statements about the Antichrist that have not been met so far. Daniel implies in his Ram and Goat Vision (Daniel 8) that the Antichrist is coming from the King of the north (Northern Kingdom, Syria). Daniel also states (Daniel 11:37) that he will not regard the desire of women. Javier Solana is married with 2 children but has not lived with his family for many years.
So while everything is still not clear, the Bible clearly states that the Tribulation period will start with Israel’s signing of a 7-year treaty. Is this the 7-year treaty of death that Isaiah tells us about? Is Javier Solana the Antichrist? Is the WEU the organization of 10 kingdoms Daniel talks about? Will Israel sign the 7-year (ENPI) agreement to get the financing for the action plan? I don’t know, but remember Matthew chapter 24: 32-33 says that the people that are alive when the Jews return to their homeland Israel (1948) and see all the above signs in verses 4 -32 (Tribulation period) will see the Son of Man coming (rapture). Many things could and probably will change between now and January 2007.
