Are we just supposed to not talk about any of the other ills addressing the church now?

Look at the subject of this thread.

You can start a new thread about the other ills you believe you see.

Video of the procession (recession) following the episcopal consecrations on July 1st. Absolutely beautiful to see so many religious there, including many friends entering the priesthood or the consecrated religious life.

Welcome home. How was the trip?

Thank you! Deo gratias! I have been having a hard time explaining the trip to my friends and family who weren't with us, but it was the most spiritually fulfilling experience I ever had. We spent several days with a Swiss family (I met their son while he spent a few months in the states a couple years ago) who are the most loving, generous people on the planet. I am convinced his mother is a living saint. Most of them didn't speak a lick on English but we all felt such a strong bond with them that it really hurt to have to leave. Being present while 20,000+ Catholics gathered and prayed the rosary for the Church and the Holy Father in the middle of a massive storm was awe-inspiring. It was wonderful to reconnect with dear friends from all across the world who simply love the faith. France, Canada, Argentina, Germany, Mexico, Switzerland, just to name a few. It was a humbling demonstration of the universality of the Catholic Church. Most of us don't share a common tongue, but as Mass and rosary were offered, everyone could pray together: "Gloria in Excelsis Deo…. Pater Noster qui est in Caelis… Dmine non sun dignus… Ave Mara gratia plena…" etc. After cne we had a beautiful opportunity to spend a few days visiting the Capuchin friars in Morgon. One of the priests there spoke English and took time to talk to each of us one-on-one for a few hours. I have never been filled with more love and joy in my life than after that conversation. Seeing the cloister was so humbling and can't even begin to explain. The friars live with nothing, sleeping on wooden planks, no AC, very little running water, and somehow are the happiest people I have ever encountered. I pray that someday I can learn to love God with the same passion and humility as they.

I recorded a bit of a vlog. Maybe I will post it to this thread after I edit it down if people would like. Otherwise it would be on the same channel as the procession video.

Or maybe just maybe… refusal to submit to the authority of the Pope is the cause of Christian division

Gross. Ill never bend the knee to any man. As a Christian I bend the knee to Jesus.

Even if Jesus were to command you to be guided by this man on earth?

We don't bend the knee to the man - it's a gesture of respect to the office. Catholics worship the triune God.

Well I guess since I have no respect for the office either I'll remain on my feet focused on what matters.

Do you believe Jesus established a hierarchical church with the power from above to bind and loose here on earth through the forgiveness of sins?

It take a much bigger man to kneel than it does to stand. Jesus Christ himself washed his disciples feet, and you're too much of a badass to humble yourself to anyone. Impressive

Took a little bit of time to edit, but for those interested here are the vlogs from our trip. It was a great experience.
