I hope he comes over to ACNA. The good bishop seems to champion the traditional catholic faith.

Sad story but the whole point of being Catholic is that you stay with THE Church Christ founded, not whichever aligns with your beliefs. He's done this the right way and kept to his principles, and Pope Francis unfortunately saw fit to remove him. Far worse has been to to far many more, if anything there is now another "martyr" for the conservative side. I used to get very worked up about what Pope Francis is doing but I firmly believe it will end up making an even more devout Church due to the reaction. Ironic because the Holy Father should increase the faith by what he's promoting, not by the reaction to it. God bless Bishop Strickland and God bless Pope Francis.

Was his firing a Christian act? Would Jesus have fired him?

Is the current Pope Catholic? That's a serious question these days.

I used to laugh it off, but taylor marhsall's book infiltration makes some points that are hard to ignore

Read Malachi Martin's book, "Jesuits". It reveals so much of what is coming from the Vatican. Highly recommend the book.

Taylor Marshall's book was corrected by Pope Emeritus Benedict before he passed. You may want to listen to Taylor with more caution.

Well duh. But as with most things Babylon Bee, there's truth embedded in their satire.

That's what good satire is, and the Bee does it effectively

Worst modern pope.

Now you go back in history you'll find some truly evil SOBs, but this guy is just awful. Time for a new pope and I'm not even Catholic.
Currently a happy listless vessel and deplorable. #FDEMS TRUMP 2024.

And we know why. Did Jesus fire him or did He send him to fulfill both their destinies and God's will?
Alexander, Caesar, Charlemagne, and myself founded empires; but upon what foundation did we rest the creations of our genius? Upon force! But Jesus Christ founded His upon love; and at this hour millions of men would die for Him. - Napoleon Bonaparte

Yet our Blessed Lord coverted Saul and knocked him off his high horse. Paul later resists Peter to his face. I mean, if you want to play the comparison game...

During the interview, Bishop Strickland also underscored that Pope Francis has the authority to remove him from diocesan governance, and frequently encouraged those upset or confused by the development to pray for the Pope and not to leave the Church.

Pablo, I didn't know you were a Calvinist.

Jesus asked both Judas and Peter to be disciples. Both rejected him after being with Jesus for years. One took his own life out of remorse but not out of repentance. Peter repented and became the first rock of the church. They are foils of one another and a microcosm of how all of us interact with God. Do we repent or in our own twisted theology think we can run away from God?

Jesus picking Judas and Judas being a tragedy isn't a reflection on God's actions but on man's.

Apologies, however, I don't know enough about Calvinism to respond to that claim.

My point about Jesus and Judas was that, looking back, it all seems so obvious, but that is not how our Lord operates. He looks forward. I remember a homily about the last supper and the seating of Judas in the place of honor, to the left of Jesus. Jesus knew who would betray him, yet he gave him every chance even up to the kiss.

When someone asked if dismissing Bishop Strickland was a Christian act, something Jesus would do? The answer is not so clear. On the one hand, Bishop Strickland was well beloved by many. On the other hand, he was disobedient to Rome, even by his own admission, regarding Traditiones Custodes. There were other issues regarding his diocese, but Pope Francis has been clear about getting on the same page and not looking backwards (i.e., TLM). Bishop Strickland was sticking it to Rome and he got called on it. Not so much for his so-called conservative views, but for his neglect to his flock.

All my opinion, of course.
