How long do you want to ignore this user?
For those who have paid account here, do you think it's worth it? Also, if you block/ignore someone, and they respond to you, do you see any indication they responded? Or does it appear that no post was even made on your end?

Not paid, but my understanding is that no post appears at all from someone you've blocked.

But you could also just choose to ignore them without paying and it would serve the same purpose...

When I was a student they gave us free premium. The feature to see if someone responded to your post is the best part. The horn tears thread is also good.

IDK why you would want to DM anyone. Ignoring people is for snowflakes.

Overall, not worth what they're asking, but still worth something.

Yes, I'm aware. It's not just about the ability to block. I am wondering about primarily if they find membership to be worth it. Ability to DM, etc. Does it make the experience here, as a whole, better.

Understood! I have wondered that myself, never been premium but have sometimes wanted to DM others. I would really like night mode too... If you do end up doing it let us know if you think it's worth it.

Another advantage of paying is the system tracks if new posts have been added to a thread since you last opened it. If you re-open that thread, it takes you automatically to the first new post. Once you get used to that feature, it's difficult to live without it.

And most if not all of these features are available at the Basic fee level.

I pay primarily for the sports content and the fact that I am friends with quite a few posters in real life so the DM comes in handy.

I blocked one poster for about a week some time ago but that is the only time I have used that function.

But I am not going through what you are. So there is that.

I think the content great with the subscription, I enjoy the premium board. I have never ignored anyone, it is tempting but I haven't found it necessary. I would be interested to who has blocked me, although I don't try to be offensive to anyone. I know we all can be obnoxious but I don't see ignoring anyone as being productive even on this board that steals too much of my productivity some days.

I used to have it.

I liked having PMs even though I didn't use them much.

The alert when there are new posts on a thread you've watchlisted/posted on and alert when someone has responded to you cuts both ways. It's very handy, but I already spend too much time here and I'm the kind of person who needs to have my inbox at zero unread messages. That turns it into another inbox to manage. I also walk away from threads when they get too contentious/boring, and knowing someone has responded makes that much harder.

I use the extra icons sometimes, but that's no big deal since I usually leave the default icon.

I don't think I looked at any premium boards. I can waste enough time on the public boards.

I ignored one or two people. Can't remember the names, but I thought it/they were socks set up to be extreme examples of political positions. Or maybe they were just tools. In any case, as I've gotten older I've gotten a lot better at ignoring people on my own.

I paid for one star when I needed to contact someone, left it active out of inertia, and lost it when that credit card expired. Never felt a desire to get it back.

I think I have only ever blocked 2 posters. It was worth it though. Both wound up getting banned anyway, I believe. The proper action is to email the mods with questions like this, I think, not to start a thread.

It depends on what you're looking for. Billy, Jason, and Brauninger are excellent recruiting analysts and there are some good football discussions on the Premium forum. Billy is very cautious with how he releases information, so Premium often has early hints but not early information on a lot of things (and I'm not complaining, I think that's absolutely the right way to go).

I think I've only ever put one poster on ignore and it was for the repetitive and unproductive way they post. When they post I see their username and then it skips to the next poster. If I want to see what they wrote I can click on their user name. They've not responded to me, so I have no idea what happens if they do.

The ability to track replies in threads is useful, but I feel like premium is more about supporting the product than the bells and whistles that come with the stars.

I don't need help ignoring people, I just do when required. Usually that kind of poster is inches away from a ban anyway.

I like the meltdown thread it makes me smile.

The watchlist is convenient especially since it take you to the part of the thread you last read.

I have a basic subscription, and I think the little added features are worth the price. I don't have anyone on ignore, so I am not sure how that works.

I had the premium subscription for years and the amount of content is pretty high and worth it if you watch it all. But I didn't, so it was a good cut for me.

Thanks everyone! That's very helpful. I'm starting to think it'll make my time here more enjoyable, and since I LOVE following Aggie recruiting, I think that will be a big perk as well.

I had the trial or whatever what back when when they gave it everyone for a few months. What I quoted was, by far, the best feature and the only thing that even remotely made me consider whether I wanted to pay money for it.

Worth it. Especially during recruiting.

For as many years and as much time as I spend here, I figure they deserve something for keeping the place running. Not a recruiting junkie or a big money ag, so basic works for me. The perks are nice but I wouldn't pay just for that

I subscribe mainly for the premium content and I enjoy the premium board. For me, it's worth it.

A few months ago I decided to start heavily using the ignore function.

Post something really stupid, Ignore. Bring up politics in a post where it's absolutely not topical, Ignore. Post in such a way I find generally annoying, ignore. Be rude or antagonistic in a non-humorous or productive way, ignore. Basically, if a poster shows that their opinions really shouldn't carry any weight, then I ignore them. Not in an I'm mad at or dislike the person sort of way, but a time saver and enjoyment increasing sort of way.

It has greatly improved the reading of threads. It's amazing how often I'll start reading a thread and I suddenly start seeing people react all hot and bothered to some post I didn't see cuz it was from someone I ignored. It's great, I highly endorse the ignore function.

I personally like the dichotomy premium provides. You and I are diametrically opposed politically, but I star every one of your premium posts. In a world comprised only of Aggie athletics, you and I are besties...

If you are a recruiting junkie, it is an absolute golden time to be on premium. This past class alone was worth a decade of subscription...

Politics and such are mostly absent (aside from today's COVID thread) on the premium board, and we can all revel together in horn tears...

Same here. I think there's only 1 person who I have on ignore whose username hasn't been outright banned anyway.

You still see the line with their username, but it's highlighted in blue.

I dont ignore anyone using the ignore feature, because I have no self control and would just click the reveal button anyway.

but dms are occasionally useful and I like the emojis. The watch list would be hard to live without at this point because I've gotten so used to it.

The watchlist reminds of GPS. I used to be able to get around without it. Now I feel helpless if I don't have it.

If you ignore Barnes that leaves nothing on the General board or the Varsity board.

What are the most current Barnes' socks?

Some people say clob94 is, but others claim that they know that poster personally and can verify that he's not. Of course, it suddenly occurs to me that those other posters may also be barnes' socks, ha ha.

How does one determine a new barnes' sock?
