One of the most controversial subjects within charismatic circles is David Wilkerson's The Vision, which he claimed to have had in 1973. He is a compelling and convicting preacher and some of what he had seen has come to pass. For those of you who are younger, you may not recall the 1950s and early 1960s when society was much more restrained and sexuality was NOT advertised openly. His words regarding the epidemic of pornography, sexual promiscuity, generational warfare and widespread social backlash against Christians are prescient.
One of his more controversial predictions is a confederation of the Roman Catholic Church and liberal ecumenical Protestants who unite politically against evangelical/charismatic Christians to conduct a campaign of intense persecution
