Took a trip to Nashville and then headed up to Williamstown, KY to see the new Ark Encounter. As many years as I've studied and taught on the Ark and Flood seeing a full scale version blows my mind away. Regardless of where your beliefs fall on the Genesis flood account this is a phenomenally well developed exhibit.

Also, they have 9 miles of zip line for the atheists to fall back on after they take a look.

Young dinosaurs obviously included

We're standing about 1/4 mile away for the entire ark to fit in the camera at 1X exposure. You can probably see the people standing right by the structure that look like ants.

There was never a global flood (unless you count snowball Earth) and the purveyors of this crap are outright liars.

I will say, I'll be impressed if Hamm launches a plan to flood Kentucky to prove the ark works. Otherwise he's just shown that $100 million plus heavy construction equipment = big ****ing boat.

Also, I don't think rudders were invented during the time of Noah...

Kids will get to visit this farce thinking its a replica from an event that really happened. That's healthy conditioning.

Just look at it as a fantasy/disney type thing

They could make it double as a zoo. I wonder how many animals they can get in there?

Hamm wants public school kids to visit. He's already had public school groups in his Creation Museum. The man is a menace to education.

Thanks for posting! Glad you had a good time. It appears as though the "Noahland" thread got deleted.

Myth or not, why is this a menace to education?

If we drive up through that area, I think we'd probably stop by. Regardless of one's views of the biblical story of the flood, I think that from a Christian perspective, the kids would enjoy actually being able to get a perspective on how big the ark described in the Bible was said to be.

Because it's presented as fact and willingly ignores fundamental rules of evidence and the basics of science in order to push a specific religious faith.

You guys forget... under their rules, as long as there are a few "kinds" of animals left, they can then experience uber-rapid evolution and account for the vast diversity of life we now observe. 4,000 years is a helluva long time in creationist evolutionary time.

The issue isn't so much good-natured joking. There's no need for insults though. He came here to share an experience with us. Yes, you may disagree with him and others on this issue, but he came here just to share. I know this is an anonymous forum and that lends itself to crudeness some time, but I doubt you would say this stuff directly to his face if you were sharing a meal and he pulled out these pictures. No need to be like other boards here.

Hamm presents it as objective fact, not religious myth and it is not in context with other faiths. Public dollars should have nothing to do with this fantasy.
