What the gay 'marriage' people say would not happen is happening

Again, I'm not a law maker. I think denying service to someone for superficial reasons is wrong. Yes, I would say denying a person's source of food would be a point at which it should be illegal. Probably housing too.

I can't tell you how many times I wanted to say this but, decided not to. It's uncanny.

I honestly didn't know modern people used still words like "evil" and "heretic" with such regularity.

I've definitely commented on the over use of the word heretic. Which is disgusting. I actually pictured him as that woman until I found out he was a dude. No offense.

Let those who do not use these words be anathema!

Well, if you know anyone still alive from the Levitical priesthood that's eating shrimp and mixing fabrics - shame on them! As for the rest of us that rightly divide the word and are entered into the covenant of grace (Hebrews 8:6), we are not trying to get sexual deviancy banned by Congress. I'm just tired of seeing Christian businesses specifically targeted by antagonistic gay rights activists. I realize you're blinded from truth and tossed to and from by the changing whims of contemporary culture, but is it not the Biblephobes and God haters that are pushing for legislation to fine Christians, subpoena pastors, and send those of disagreeing opinions to indoctrination camps?

Ah yes, the old argument of "The OT doesn't apply to Christians".

btw, homosexuals aren't part of contemporary culture, they have been around forever...just ask the Catholic church.

Also, Christian businesses aren't targeted by homosexuals. You just want special treatment because you are scared of something you don't understand. Your icky factor is irrelevant to society and luckily people like you are withering away.

Superficial reasons like being gay? Do these laws only apply to "necessities?" Would denying to bake a cake be denying a source of food?

What does "being gay" mean? They are walking through the grocery store having sex? Yes, that is disturbing the peace and they should call the police.

To help explain MBQ here... Does "being gay" mean "having same sex attraction" or does it mean "having sex with a member of the same sex"? While there is much overlap, the two notions are radically different.

Being gay means same sex attraction. Why not answer both situations though. Do you sell a house (shelter) to a gay couple? You know their going to bang all over it.

Do you rent gay honey mooners a room in a hotel?

Do you have to be currently engaging in heterosexual sex to be considered straight? Is everyone just completely asexual at all times they're not actively humping something?

Jim, Beer, I know it means having a same sex attraction. Yet so many times, I see the notion that "being gay" is sinful and I weep for the loss of people's critical reading and thinking skills. The Bible that these people profess to know so well discusses and condemns the actions (not the attractions), yet the words they write claim that the attraction is sinful as well.

IV. "We must ask, again," he says, "What is sin,an act, or a thing? If it is a thing, it must have an author; and if it be said to have an author, then another besides God will seem to be introduced as the author of a thing. But if it is impious to say this, we are driven to confess that every sin is an act, not a thing. If therefore it is an act, for this very reason, because it is an act, it can be avoided." Our reply is, that sin no doubt is called an act, and is such, not a thing. But likewise in the body, lameness for the same reason is an act, not a thing, since it is the foot itself, or the body, or the man who walks lame because of an injured foot, that is the thing; but still the man cannot avoid the lameness, unless his foot be cured. The same change may take place in the inward man, but it is by God's grace, through our Lord Jesus Christ. The defect itself which causes the lameness of the man is neither the foot, nor the body, nor the man, nor indeed the lameness itself; for there is of course no lameness when there is no walking, although there is nevertheless the defect which causes the lameness whenever there is an attempt to walk. Let him therefore ask, what name must be given to this defect, would he have it called a thing, or an act, or rather a bad property in the thing, by which the deformed act comes into existence? So in the inward man the soul is the thing, theft is an act, and avarice is the defect, that is, the property by which the soul is evil, even when it does nothing in gratification of its avarice, even when it hears the prohibition, "Thou shalt not covet," and censures itself, and yet remains avaricious. By faith, however, it receives renovation; in other words, it is healed day by day,yet only by God's grace through our Lord Jesus Christ.

If sin is an act then how is one born with it?

I do appreciate making such a distinction. It at least acknowledges that people who think being gay is a choice are idiots. That said, given the practical applications of this line of thinking, I don't find it all that much better.

Even when it comes to non-married straight people, when they do choose to actually have intimate relationships with others, the condemnation is more of a "awww shucks, I wish you wouldn't do that," not the full-on "YOU'RE DESTROYING AMERICA WITH YOUR GENITALS!" stuff you see directed toward gay people. For whatever reason *cough double standard cough hypocrisy cough* straight people get a "boys will be boys, they sow wild oats, blah blah blah" when they don't take a vow of celibacy. You don't see people like seamaster starting more than 60% of his threads about them.

You're right... That double standard is particularly awful, especially in light of both sins being on equal footing.

Thanks. I could deal with "oh geez, whatever." Though I have to say it's kind of cool knowing there are people out there who literally blame whole hurricanes on me getting it on.
