The Saturday before is a much better date. Competing with a Midnight Yell the night before (Thanksgiving) is a losing battle. I tend to stand on the side of direct commute to the Memorial after Burn being an immense positive. It is going to require an extreme example of classlessness and general a$$hattery behavior-wise of distinctive/representative members (of levels which I like to think no Aggie can sink to) to have Burn somehow ruin the 2:42 remembrance gathering.
And as for the sheer timing being a conflict, last year it was a 11/18 issue which I could consider possessing more gravity, but this year I feel it is an opportunity for SB to forge a direct bond, even if just emotionally and out of respect, with Bonfires of the past and its passionate populations. Is it the same? Nope. Is it similar? I don't see how anyone could say it isn't. Was (and is) SB (and its predecessors) inspired by past fires? Absolutely
