If you still care to give, please don't be deterred. The newspaper said that there may be up to 9 citations issued, including one for obstruction of traffic at the front gate and another for starting a perimeter fire.

There have been at least 4 lawyers who have volunteered to help the Grey pots with their citations, so they may have the fines set below $500 (which has always been a possibility).

A big thank you to everyone who stepped up to cover the fines for the greys!

However, I'd just like to add that the fact that the fines for the seven greys is now covered should in no way discourage the continuation of donations while the spirit of giving is still in the air. The fate of the current stack and its removal is still an open issue, as well the real possibility of charges from the fire department for use of their trucks to douse the fire. So these guys will in all likelihood still have some unexpected expenses to cover above and beyond county issued fines. And if there's a surplus from all this generosity, all the better to give them sure footing for next year's build.

Good Bull. Glad to hear no one with a Bonfire citation will be rooting for the 'sips to cover as a fundraiser as mentioned above. Man, that would be bad mojo.

I can't donate or anything, with no credit card or checking account, but I just want to tell you guys Im proud that yall are determined to keep the spirit alive. It just makes me look that much more forward to 2008!

Pre-turkeyday insanity being what it usually is I didn't get the check out, so I used the Paypal option and made it for $55 to cover what gets skimmed off the top by them.

I want to thank everyone that donated, it has and will make the Grey's lives easier in the coming weeks/months

Can we raise another THREE GRAND so we can can go back out and burn that thing to the ground Thursday night?!!

Update: The Greys are all expected to get citations either sent to them or hand delivered, per conversation with Chance. From the impression that Chance got, the court knows that every citation has been paid for and is going to assess the maximum fine. Chance was under a tight timeline to deal with his citation, so he may not have the opportunity to fight it. The rest of the citations may still be contested.

Looks like the tradition started after the 2002 fire has continued. After burn night, everyone just quits working.

It may just be the fact that everyone had tests then Finals. Everyone has NOT quit working, It just seems that way.. There are alot of things going on.

Now, as for the checks, I cant say but I will ask the Greens when I see them today.

Never mind.....it showed up today.

I wasn't trying to insult this years leaders because I think they did an awesome job. I just think that because the "hard" work was over, everyone relaxes a little too much and things don't get done like they should.

Slim, I'm sure you remember basically having to start from scratch in 2003. I just don't want next year's leaders to have to do more work than they will already have.
