I barely know Levi...we've just chit chatted a few times after long, hard days of cutting down trees. I will pray for his safe return, and hope that he can come out to Bonfire again.
Anything new? Have they been able to run any tests yet? I've been asleep most of the day after staying up there all night, so I'm kinda out of the loop.
This really sucks. Us old Walton guys were planning to have an Old Man dinner friday night at Sbisa. It won't be the same without Levi, if we still do it. I sure hope we hear some good news in the morning.
I can't figure out if I know this guy or not.. not that it matters (as far as prayers go, but..)....did he hang around guys from Daingerfield or was an ID major?
Here is a picture of Levi from the Student Bonfire website. The camera caught him at a rare moment in time when he wasn't smiling. Someone must have just told him that Captain was 90% weiner and only 10% dog.
I know Levi pretty well from the Chicken, but I just heard about this last night. What hospital is he at? I'd really like to go lend my support to his family - they have got to be good people! Cory (the manager at the Chicken) mentioned they may do some sort of fundraiser for Levi, since we don't think he has health insurance. If I hear any more, I'll let yall know.
Yeah, Levi is at St. Joseph's ICU. Visitation is at 1:30, 5:30 and 8:30 for anyone interested that hasn't been out there yet. The waiting room will be packed but his mom really appreciates our support.
I stumbled upon this on complete accident and wanted to post a reply. I am a friend of Levi's and have been at the hospital alot. I may have met the other people here that have been there, the support has been so awesome. Its incredible how Levi touches the lives of those around him.
What I wanted to let you all know is that a Trust fund for Levi has been established. The Levi Windle Fund through Bank of America. Donations can be made nationwide to this fund and also though paypal.com for LeviWindle@neo.tamu.edu. As you may already know, Levi has no health insurance. This fund is to help him and his family with the overwhelming medical bills as well as travel costs.
Also a listserv has been set up for updates on Levi's condition and information about the Fund and future fundraising events.
Levi looked better tonight and I think everyone could tell. Lets hope the doctors have good news in the morning.
I'm a senior at Leander High. Which is north of Austin for those who don't know where Leander is. Last night was our homecoming and there was this lady carrying a jar full of money. It had a picture of Levi (I'm guessing) and it said "A Good Aggie". The lady said that he was in bad shape and was at St.Joseph's.
Anyways, our support and prays are with Levi and his family. I will be praying the rosary for him tonight. I hope everything works out for the best.

they took him off of the breathing machine, which is good if he breathes on his own, but would be the end if he didn't. He is breathing shallowly on his own now, but it could go either way. FWIW, everyone is giving their goodbye's now.
They knew he was going to be able to breathe on his own to a degree.
I spoke with his mother when I got there this morning and her exact words were, "You better go say goodbye." That was at 9:45 AM. His parents went in around 11:00 AM to be there when the respirator was turned off.
I came home - can't handle being there any more. Last word at 1:30 was that he was still breathing shallow on his own.
I think it sounds like good news if he's gone this long breathing on his own!!! That has to be a good sign.
Thank you guys for keeping the rest of us updated. I thought about going to the hospital, but I figure there's a ton of people there and I'd just get in the way My thoughts & prayers are with Levi and his family. That's all I can do anyways
His mom is wonderful - she is really touched by everyone's support. They know that we will bend over backwards for him. I went up there after cut and left cuz I smelled and needed food but I'm goin back up at 8:30. There had been no change at 6:45. He's still hangin on...let's stick with him cuz he's fighting. Keep praying hard Ags, he needs it.
The last I've heard his condition is deteriorating. One of his lungs collapsed, and the other was filling with fluid... from the sound of it, it is just a matter of time.
When I was up there this afternoon, I got to see him and his family briefly. His family looks strong and it seems like the showing of support is really helping them deal with it.
