Mike--what years did you build the Fire? The name sounds real familiar to me.

Square--two years and "little birds" does not make you an expert on Bonfire. Talk to the people who build the Fire for years, like Scott or 3-Ball Paul or me-guys who still love Bonfire and still go out and build the hell. If you look around, there are still a great number of us "old guys" still here to offer advice and encouragement to the "New Army Bonfire."

Kajones, you're right, two years and some "insider information" do not make me an expert, however, they do make me just as qualified as you to have an opinion on the matter. And I'm glad you invited me to have a discussion with somebody passionate about Bonfire, because I did just that tonight and it gave me a great deal of insight and hopefully he took some from it as well.

I don't profess to be an expert on the matter, and none of you should either. However, I do respect all of your opinions and I hope you respect mine as well...as somebody who did participate in ASB when time permitted and somebody that's made the effort to further educate themselves about the matter. "Old guys'" opinions aren't all the same. Most of them that post on here love Bonfire for any number of reasons. I strongly encourage you old guys to speak up and offer what advice you do have to make ASB strong and make it endure. And you "young guys," listen up. Building it now doesn't make you an expert on the matter. Having done it and then removed yourself from it makes you an authority.

And I guess I would respect your opinions on this matter if I could understand 1/3 of what you say, Terry. I have no previous issues with you...but your whole attitude from some of these threads seems to me to be a bit disrespectful...which I obviously met with my own disrespect. Posts like yours above is about as ambiguous as any I've read as well.
