Is anyone else concerned with the idea of firing a senior level female executive, and promoting (even if it's not to the same position) a young male who may not have the experience or qualifications, except on paper?

I know, it's just a tv show, but that's also not a very good message to send.
Seriously, do some of you not work?

Michael was told by the CFO that he would still have his old job and I don't see Ryan breaking up with Kelly like that if he had to stay in the office with her.

Redstone... Yes this is a horrible message to send... firing a senior level woman with huge tatas is a big mistake... taking away office scenery like that is just wrong.

When Jim asked Karen out, maybe that's to celebrate he and Karen engagement?

WTF are you talking about? I'm pretty sure you meant Pam for the first Karen... and even then, that wouldn't make any sense at all... "So it's a date then?" doesn't sound like he wants to celebrate his engagement with another girl.

Dwight's first choice for his #2?

Jack Bauer. If only he weren't unavailable, fictional, and overqualified.

My prediction is:
BJ was offered another position at corporate. Karen got the main job, and while in NYC, Jim broke it off with her.

Ryan is going to be Karen's Administrative Assistant!

He just doesnt know it yet...

Dwight telling Andy that he didnt have a good interview and then still having to promte him was awesome.

Creed is slowing climbing on Dr Kelso for my favorite bit character on TV.

Stanley is awesome. Its amazing how much he just doesnt care!

I also loved that 3 years into this show, they are still staying close to the spirit of the British original.

Michael not getting the job, and then coming back to the Office claiming how he couldn't leave them ("I'm going nowhere." was very reminiscent of when David Brent claimed he'd turned down the corporate job when in truth he'd been denied the job due to his high blood pressure. High blood pressure he then claimed to have faked in order to stay head of his branch.

Michael's facial expression upon seeing the new and improved Jan was the best expression of the season!

I disagree.

I think that Ryan's expression after he told Kelli it was over was the most priceless, and the fact that his expression is the impression I have until the start of the next season is simply awesome!

OK, I forgot about this. But did anyone else notice that after Jim said that he saw Lorne Michaels, LM actually walked out of the shop he was standing next to for a split second before they went to the next scene? I thought that was kinda funny

How long do you want to ignore this user?

We thought that would be great if it were LM, but after rewinding... it appeared to be just some spare... but maybe it was

I paused and rewound and that did not look like Lorne Michaels.

I was only mildly disappointed that the twistedly wrong URL said on the show didn't match the actual creedthoughts weblog, but who's complaining?

But the payoff on the joke was Ryan's revelation that he had set it up for Creed, and was so concerned about unleashing Creed onto the internet that he just created a new Word document with the fake URL at the top.

That's why it was something like-

What if the CFO wasn't talking to Ryan? What if Ryan was talking to Karen???

Maybe, but if I had to put money down, I'd say it was the CFO.

The Office doesn't make a habit of cliffhangers and wild surprising turns that develop over time. Usually it's a setup with the immediate payoff.

Obviously somethings going to have to happen with Karen, but I think it may just be leaving the door open to see what happens with her pilot. The storyline will depend on that.

Karen's pilot was picked up, she's headed to Fox. It might not last though, so she could be back later in the season.
