Brother-in-law had a friend who got hit by a train... I suggested he make a mix tape of a bunch of songs about trains.

BIL thought it was a good idea and would have found it funny if it was him, but said this guy didn't have that type of sense of humor.

Cocaine by Clapton

Dead Flowers by the Rolling Stones (actually about heroin but close enough)

Golden Path by Flaming Lips (actually about a bad acid trip but close enough)

Fever Dog by Stillwater (fictional band but would still work)

Mr Brownstone by G'nR is about heroin.
FAST FRED
How long do you want to ignore this user?
Madman's post covered all the rock songs, so here's my unsolicited contribution from another genre:

Coca-Cola contained cocaine from 1886 to 1906.

And cocaine was legal in the US until 1914.

Cole Porter's standard from the thirties, "I Get A Kick Out Of You," starts out, "Some get a kick from cocaine..."

Through the years, Frank Sinatra, Rosemary Clooney, Ethyl Merman, Billie Holliday, Ella Fitzgerald, Louie Armstrong and even Dolly Parton have recorded it, but they changed the words.

"I get no kick from cocaine" and even "I get no kick from champagne" are two changed versions I remember hearing.

"Come here mama, come here quick. This ol' cocaine 'bout to make me sick. Cocaine's got me, runnin' 'round my brain." - "Cocaine Blues"

"Cocaine in my Brain" — Dillinger

A knife, a fork, a bottle and a cork
That's the way we spell New York, Jim - yeah
You see I'm a dynamite
So all you got to do is hold me tight
Because I'm out a sight, you know
'Cause I'm a dynamite

But everytime I walk in the rain
Man, o man, I feel a pain, I feel a burning pain
Keep on burning in my bloody brain

I've got cocaine runnin' around my brain
I've got cocaine runnin' around my brain
I want you to dig me soul brother and soul sister
I want you hold me tight because I'm a dynamite - yeah
I've got cocaine runnin' around my brain

No matter where I treat my guest
You see they always like my kitchen best
'Cause I've cocaine runnin' around my brain
cocaine runnin' around my brain, yea

Hey Jim, Jim? Where is Jim, man?
Jim, I want you to tell me somethin'
I want you to spell for me New York, Jim
Come on, Jim, I want you to spell New York

A knife, a fork, a bottle and a cork
That's the way we spell New York
Right on, out of sight man, right on, ooh
Right on, yeah, right on

Hey Jim, Jim, just a minute y'all
I want to ask you somethin'
I want you to spell somethin' for me, Jim
Can you do that? Sure John
But I want you to spell for me New York
John, why you ask me to do that?
I just want you to spell New York, Jim
Well alright, I'm gonna go ahead man

N-E-W Y-O-R-K, that's New York, man
No Jim, you've made a mistake, Jim
I'm gonna teach you the right way
And the proper way to spell New York
Well, go ahead, John

A knife, a fork, a bottle and a cork
That's the way we spell New York, Jim - yeah
You see, I'm a dynamite
So all you got to do is hold me tight
Because I'm out a sight, you know
'Cause I'm a dynamite

Another vote for "Feel Good Hit of the Summer" by QOTSA. Go to MSN.com, do a search for the Queens, and look for this video. Should be the only video out there that literally spells out the words "Cocaine" in the video.

"That Girl Crystal" by Cooder Graw is about a guy's buddy being hooked on meth. It has a nice double meaning about a girlfriend named Crystal too. That became especially ironic when the song came out while my roommate was in the midst of a break-up with a girl by that name.
