Opening Bands: The Subways (missed all but last two songs), Head Automatica, Angels and Airwaves
Let me start by saying I prefered the Head Automatica singer when he was with Glassjaw, and Angels and Airwaves is my least favorite of any of the Blink 182 side projects. That said, both put on excellent performances. I knew only a few songs well between the two bands, but I was still able to thoroughly enjoy the shows they put on. I also say this after seeing Boxcar Racer live and being completely disappointed with the way Tom Delounge (sp) conducted himself. He has greatly improved his performance skills since I saw him last and I was impressed.
Taking Back Sunday is one of my favorite bands out there these days and I have already seen them twice. This time, it was at Relient Arena, and while they still put on an excellent show, they belong in a club setting. The atmosphere felt completely wrong for their style and I was slightly disappointed in the outcome (the same way I was slightly disappointed with the new cd, their major label debut). But they still manage to maintain the energy they've always had, and still mixed in several songs from their previous (and imo, far superior) cds, give us longtime fans a breath of fresh air in lieu of their newer, top 40-friendly style
Granted, this could very well be the last time I see them live (unless they return to clubs for some reason), because the news is out on their talent and many people, especially screaming teenage girls have hopped on the bandwagon, ruining it for the original fans.
