http://www.aclfestival.com/schedule/day1.htm

I'm a little disappointed as far as how they have overlapped some of the major acts.

On the first day, Tragically Hip, Ray LaMontagne, and John Mayer all overlap at some point.

On the second day, Kings of Leon and Iron & Wine play at EXACTLY the same time, and the end of those shows overlaps Willie Nelson, and Willie overlaps Massive Attack.

On the third day, the end of Ben Harper overlaps the beginning of G. Love, and the end of G. Love overlaps Muse. Muse plays 15 minutes into Tom Petty's show as well.

Its going to be hell trying to figure out my schedule for the festival this year.

I'm doing my usual Sunday trip because I can't get away on Friday or Saturday at that time of year. The two I most wanted to see were Petty and Flaming Lips, so I'm pretty happy. I really wanted to see Gnarls Barkley and Stars too, so that was a little disappointing.

Top to bottom, this Sunday isn't as good as last year's, but it'll still be cool.

well ballz...

i was still debating ACL vs. Army game in SA..then the two bands (explosions in the sky, iron & wine) i REALLY want to see live are playing at the same ****ing time. i guess it makes my decision easier, and saves me a **** ton of money.

Friday looks like it sucks balls. Saturday is where it's at.

Overlaps of great bands at ACL is a sign that it is a really strong line-up.
With that said, Friday is evidence of the relatively weak roster this year. I've been to every day of every year of ACL fest, and Friday of this year is the only time I won't have a tough decision to make all day. Only really 4 bands I want to see, and none overlap.
Sunday is going to be a ***** though, other than avoiding G. Love, which is always easy if you have ears.

The Army game is a problem for me too. My #1 and #2 bands were the Rancatours and Kings of Leon...then you throw Willie on top of that. All on Sat. night. I don't know what I'm going to do.

doesn't look that great. if you all have nothing better to do, go see Anathallo on Sunday.

this lineup just doesn't excite me like last years. maybe i'm just getting old and out of touch.

It definitely doesn't excite me nearly as much as last year, and I agree the schedule is a tad weak, but there is a still a s**t-ton of amazing talent that I would be more than willing to spend the money to see IMO.

They don't have to have a "strong" schedule anymore. They are starting to sell out on tickets, regardless of unbearable conditions. Where's the incentive? Bring in a couple of "name" bands and let it go from there. I might have to say screw'em this year.

There are only 3 bands I care to see on Saturday and I have no interest in any of the headliners. Hard to justify a 3 day pass...

I am sure some of the bands will be playing other shows around town, I may try to get in on some of those.

This is the first time I won't be at ACL.
