.....as a Netflix rental and thought it was the best movie I've seen anywhere since I watched "Crash" in a theater.
Think of "Whale Rider," another excellent film about the lives of modern Maori tribes people in New Zealand, meeting the tragedy of Tennessee Williams, on steroids.
This flick has excellent acting and I found the story riveting.
IMHO, all the performances are nothing less than amazing and the range of emotions portrayed is complete in its scope.
It's a very powerful movie.
Don't expect a happy ending.

I thought it rivaled "City of God" as an illuminating look into another culture and the human condition.

Gig 'em, FAST FRED '65.
Before the world wide web, village idiots usually stayed in their own village.
