Please, FOR THE LOVE OF GOD, do not call a group of pot heads making mediocre (at best) music "CCR." If the band isn't headed by a man named Foggerty, it ain't CCR. End of story.

Carry on . . .

Or Fogerty.

Ah yes, dallasag_123, but they were pot heads making good music! Therein lies the difference.

Fogerty, Foggerty, what's the difference!

"Willie and the Poor Boys" - the album with "Down on the Corner" and "Midnight Special".

If greatest hits count, I'd take "Chronicles" with all of their greatest hits including "Proud Mary".

Did you see that the CCR hit "Fortunate Son" was performed last night on Rock Star: INXS?

CCR was certainly a great band.

Nice tribute thread.

Two entirely generations. The original CCR was good, but how many other early 20's know who they are? Most people my age associate CCR with Cross Canadian Ragweed, who by the way are damn good (but i have seen them enough 25+ times that i don't get to excited).

no, most people our age do not do that

I agree completely.

For the record, I'm 22 years old and the only CCR there is is Creedence Clearwater Revival.

Yea, Chronicle is my favorite, too. Everytime I hear "Lookin' Out My Back Door" I think of The Dude smashing into a trashcan.

I don't believe CCR ever put out an album or song called "Ragweed".

Indeed, they may have smoked some weed, but I think its agreed, there was never a song called "Ragweed". That's so funny I just peed.

Same here.

1. I like Creedence.
2. I like "Texas Country," but am not really a fan of Ragweed.

CCR = Creedence Clearwater Revival

P.S. I am 21, 22 here in a few weeks.

"most" people our age do not associate CCR with Cross Canadian Ragweed. They are a Texas/Oklahoma band, not very popular outside of the two states. They are mediocre at best.

CCR is Creedence Clearwater Revival. I'm 21, and I know that.

the only song you can call ragweed "CCR" in association with is "The boys from Oklahoma". The rest of the time they are Ragweed or Cross Canadian Ragweed. CCR is/was/always will be Creedence Clearwater Revival. And I'm 23, so you're still ofer on that assumption.

Obviously i don't know any of ya'll then. most people that i know associate CCR with cross. i could poll most people that i know and they would have heard of both, but call Cross CCR.

Piss off if you don't agree me, i could care less.

So you care to some degree. How much do you care? I'd venture a guess that it's a significant amount because you're posting about it on an internet message board.

P.S. -- Most people you know are, apparently, complete morons.

no they just have a red neck. seriously step away from Harrys or the Hall, they have ignorantized you to band names. You probably think Willie Nelson was the original singer of Midnight Rider dont you.

They also probably think Keith urban is a country artist.

when taken as sarcasm, "could care less" has the same meaning as "couldn't care less"
Homann05
How long do you want to ignore this user?
"redneck and morons." how little u obviously know about me and my friends. and not associating CCR with Creedance has nothing to do with the hall or harry's.

and no, keith urban is pop as is most country on the radio. makes me glad i listen to sports talk all day.

Sorry, heres the question you cant find. Its rhetorical, so there was no need for the question mark.

You probably think Willie Nelson is the original singer of Midnight Rider as well dont you?

Funny story (or maybe not)...

At Harry's several months ago to see Reckless Kelly and Jack Ingram, IIRC. After a few songs, Willie said "and now we're gonna do a little CCR for ya." All the ****ing boppers went wild - panties were definitely moistened. However, once they fired up and started playing Creedence, sheer joy turned into complete confusion. It made tolerating their drunken screams worth it.

see told you it was a rhetorical question. I dont know anybody that would get that wrong. However it was one of Willies #1's. Both versions are good, if god forbid, you havent heard them.

I think its funny, but then again I think confused faces are funny so dont go by me.

How long do you want to ignore this user?
To actually answer the original question, my favorite is probably "Highway 377". Here's why:

1) A lot of good songs that made CCR what they are today came from that album.
2) The original version of "Alabama" is better
3) Mike McClure didn't produce it.
