That seemed convenient but only thing I could come up with was it was the only hub on a road that was kinda barren with nothing along the drive.

How were the assassins able to track them to the arcade? None of them had their phones and they were in Coe's car?

I thought maybe Taverner gave the location but then I think the order it happened in the shows implied they tracked them separately.

Could just be good trade craft, went to the nearest major public areas until they found the car?

I can't figure it out. I watched the relevant parts of both episodes and don't see it. When they got to the arcade, they were in the old lady's car.

just finished the season. all in all it just wasn't very good. it made very little sense. its a show that has run out of ideas. i looked it up and the original show runner left after last season. makes sense why it felt so different.

Except for Lamb, this season kind of showed a lot of them to truly belong in Slough House. Including Taverner.

So, assuming River isn't dead but had to leave the season on a cliffhanger, they'll do the classic writer writes the hero out of the previous episode's danger. Or is he like, done?

Well, if hes James Bond, he's a dead slow horse. If he's not James Bond, he will survive because Syd will find him and call it in.

They haven't run out of ideas. There's plenty left in the books. The issue this season is trying to compress two books into one short season. It wasn't done very well. It was my least favorite season so far.

How true is Lamb in the show to Lamb in the books?

Another fun season.

The main thing that took me out of the show many times was the blatant ripping off of Terminator with the Russian agents. Their movements, their inability to be stopped and the female's treating herself in a dingy sink in front of the mirror. Absolutely terrible on that.

They really strayed away from the books this season in terms of story and character behavior and it really hurt.

The last couple of episodes were just stupid and defied reality.

At the same time I was watching this show I was (for the second time) watching the French series Le Bureau de Legendes, Le Bureau was vastly better than this season of Slow Horses. The American show The Agency is based on Le Bureau but is not anywhere close to being as good as the French original.

Hopefully seasons 7 and 8 of Slow Horses get back on track.

Thank you for the mentioning of Le Bureau des Lgendes. I will add that to my shows to watch. It looks like it is available in Paramount+. I have enjoyed The Agency, and if the original French version is better, I will sure like it.

Pretty damn spot on. Maybe a bit more of a curmudgeon/*******, whereas Oldman lets a little more emotion come thru(like this season when River tells him about Coe) . But otherwise what you see on screen is how he is in the books.

I'll disagree for the most part. Not that I think the show was perfect, there were a couple things that seemed a little too "hollywood", but I thought they blended the two stories well. And I don't know who you are referring to regarding character behaviors that were changed. Lady Di maybe?

Honestly other than setting, and trimming some of the stories to mesh, I think the biggest change was Taverner's motivations not her behavior. In the book, she knowingly takes money from Judd to fund operations bc MI5 is in a funding crunch, and only afterwards realizes that that money came from foreign interests (in the book it's China) . Bc she was going to come clean with the PM on her ties to Judd but changes course bc Judd tells her where they money actually came from. She was going to fall on her sword bc she ****ed up both in book and on screen. She's never been Lambs equal with seeing the chessboard as well as she thinks she does. I guess there's a major death they changed from the book too. But they can stretch that into the next season most likely

I appreciate how fast they can film and push out new seasons of this show. It's not the best spy thriller series, but it's definitely better than others out there in the same sphere.
