That's the great thing about this band. Other than their Ferrari and exotic car collections, their 2 year hiatus' from touring due cocaine, huge estate houses with guitar shaped pools, and extravagant travelling circus tours that included longhorn cattle and other exotic wildlife, you'd never know they were rock stars. Very normal guys when you meet them in public.

When I was in high school a band called "The Moving Sidewalks" played at my school in Houston. All three band members went to Bellaire high school in Bellaire Texas which is one of many little cities in and around Houston.

I remember being in the boys room making it happen, and the guitarist came in and set up shop in the next stall. I told him that I thought their version of I think it was the Stones "Brown Sugar" was even better that the Stones. Billy really seemed to appreciate the complement and told me much thanks.

Then a few years later I saw ZZ Top at a small auditorium in Abeline Tx. They were incredible, and were so much fun. I didn't put together that they were the same band that played at my high school until years later.

Only Grand Funk Railroad was as much fun as them live.

Great band, great entertainers, great sound, great fun.

They are classic.

I think only a couple of the ZZ Top guys were in Moving Sidewalks, but Billy Gibbons went to Lee. The rest of ZZ Top were from other parts of TX.

Not sure about the other original guys.

Before the Moving Sidewalks the band was called The Coachmen and it was all kids from Tanglewood. I know two of them. One claimed he taught Billy to play guitar and the other is an elder at our church. Both were/are still friends with Billy

I sold him the skylights above the front door! I remember now that I went out there a couple of times to oversee the installation and I doddled around both times hoping I was going to see Frank, no luck. This had to have been around 92 or 93.

I remember thinking that this was the biggest house I'd ever been in. Huge!
