S1 thread is here, but as we all know the search on Texags is what it is.

I'm through two eps, definitely amping up the violence early this season. I like that we're scaling Conrad's crazy to match Maeve's crazy, although at least his is medically explainable.

Hoping to catch up in the next day or two.

So, thinking about this season so far....

Do we think Conrad (Brosnan) lasts the entire season? I sure hope he does, but I wouldn't put it past this show to make the dramatic step of killing off a main character.

What is Maeve's end goal? I can only assume she wants to take over the family and run it by herself without having to share power with Conrad?

And surely Seraphina doesn't survive the season, right?

Anyone else bothered by Kevin's seemingly lax security around him? He just kinda goes about his day not a care in the world lol.

I think her ultimate goal is to screw over Conrad for running around on her all those years. She's tried to create division between Conrad and Harry, Kevin, Seraphina, and Eddie. Conrad trust nobody anymore and is acting more volatile, to his own demise. She knows Harry is the reason Conrad has survived all these years and has wanted to get rid of him since S1. Just a ruthless, cold-hearted, character. Mirren plays her so well.

Maeve and Conrad are both such crazy ruthless people with such a toxic love-hate relationship that I think neither trust the other and its finally boiling over to the point where they're both deciding they need to get rid of the other one first before the other one gets rid of them, lol.

So fun to watch!

Wife more or less hates him, he's basically kicked out of Conrads inner circle at this point, son isn't his etc etc., may not care what happens to himself.

How ****ed up was it when she was laying on the waterbed with Eddie? And what do you call Eddie, btw? He's not Maeve's grandson really. I googled " what do you call the child your spouse has while cheating on you with your son's wife?" There was not a clear answer.

I hope my wife doesn't check my search history.

Not sure but every time I watch an episode, I have this intense need to end every sentence with "yeah?"

"We going to the store today, yeah?" "Aggies gonna lose today, yeah?" "How about Mexican food for dinner, yeah?"

I love this show but I think Conrad and Maeve are too over the top to where they are cartoon characters. It's taking away some authenticity and I'm finding myself wanting their scenes to be over.

Well, in Conrad's case it seems we now have a plausible reason for his actions.

Maeve...I think her motive is to get Conrad to "man up" in her own bizarre vision of what being a man is in her world - she wants him tough and ruthless. She certainly has issues, that's for sure. Probably daddy issues. It'll be interesting to see what they do with her (writing/plot wise).

I love that we have 3 or 4 different explanations on this thread for Maeve's behavior. And it's not because the show isn't giving us enough details or the writing is inconsistent. Its precisely because the writers are unraveling her motivations slowly with her actions, rather than treat the audience like a moron and give us 5 minutes of dialogue exposition of what just happened. I love that we as the audience are on the edge of our seats, not only at what Maeve and Conrad are going to do next but what their motivations are.

This show is awesome.

I don't usually watch things like this but for some reason, it caught my attention and hasn't let go. Part of it might be the setting; if it was in NYC or something, I probably would have written it off as more crime show slop.

The writing, pace and characters are fantastic, but the London backdrop and accents make it more interesting, yeah?

They've knocked it out of the park creating a character with so many layers that leaves you guessing. I want to hate her character so much, but Mirren plays her so well.

I remember at least once, when Conrad was getting the parking ticket and told the guy to look at his bollocks where his gun was laying.

Enjoy the show, but worst plot armor of the entire series for both Eddie and the entire Harrigan clan.

At a minimum, Seraphina should have caught a bullet to make the decision of back stabbing the family a dire consequence. 15 episodes in, the Harrigans have killed 50 plus gangsters and only lost one worthless son that never contributed anything to the story. Tonight was A-Team level or Star Wars level of bad shooting and escape. The bad guys make it ALL THE WAY THE HOUSE (WHO NEEDS GUARDS?), breach the house, and Harrigans run outside and get in helicopter and fly off, machine guns blaring, and a commercial helicopter just works perfectly, no shattered windshield, no mechanical issues, plot armor to the Nth degree.
Plus Harry on helicopter and car to Ireland? At a minimum that is 3+ hours. Cotswolds are just south of London. It is 260 miles to closest coast in Ireland.
Dumb to have Eddie go there when it could have been believable in Wales. Have Medusa visit some family or a business deal in Wales that Eddie intervenes into.

Double post...

I didnt even mention the fact an officer goes and hangs himself in the woods with no car left behind and no ladder, or ladder was there and he carried a ladder to the woods, with no car. I assume the rain concealed 2 sets of foot prints and the tire tracks as well, which is extremely unlikely if you ever walk in mud, but i guess possible if sandy soil.

Yes, I realize the hanging was another plot point for the detective to tie all this back to Harrigas

Why did Maeve want Medusa killed? I don't remember him even being in one of the episodes of either season.

Its a mystery right now, but I have zero doubt it'll be explained. Part of the beauty of the show is keeping you on the edge of your seat wondering who's working against who and what's their ulterior motives. This isn't a show like Lanterns where characters do unexplainable things and we're left to just assume the details that might explain those action aren't important.

That happens more than you might think. The safest person in a drive by shooting is the person that the criminals are shooting at. The 6yr old little girl and the grandmother get hit, the drug dealer/rival gang member can just stand still and not get hit.

Its doubtful that criminals, especially in the UK can just go to a range and practice. It is a little A-Teamish, but praying and spraying is a poor way to make contact with the target.

Yeah they made that way too easy. The 'stormtrooper shooting' description is an accurate one. I at least thought Paul was going to get it...glad he didn't because he's the perfect comedic relief of the show. But yeah, not great.

There's so many verbal exchanges in this heavy drama show that make me completely crack up. That's why its such a great show.
