The Billy Bobs Scene was supposed to be Urban Cowboy era, he he showed up with a Period Correct cowboy hat from that era. (For those that are younger, the crowns were a lot taller on cowboy hats than they are now)

However, the Californians that are in the costume department were not aware of this, a cowboy hat is a cowboy hat to them. It happens a lot. I've had issues with them on other subjects as well. It happens. So, most of the cowboy hats in Billy Bobs were entirely wrong for the time period.

I thought the same thing.

Also, lots of people wore feathers in their hats back then. Maybe not real cowboys, but the kind of guy who would be at Billy Bob's in 1981 probably would have.

Growing up late 70s early 80s in Corpus the big ostrich feather on the front of a high brimmed hat was the norm. Even baseball caps were taller than what we wear today.

Ok. Is Beulah alive? Or will she be an invalid

Theory- she hasn't actually signed papers to turn over the ranch yet and now she won't be able to, because she had a stroke/heart attack.....or did she really?

I thought they said in 5 years she was turning it over.

That may be the story behind her family adopting Joaquin, as the hand that drove her (forgot his name) takes the fall and has to leave but they offer to keep/raise his son (unless they already explained Joaquin's story in a previous episode).

But, has she actually signed the papers? I would assume not since the meeting with Rob Will just happened.

Buelah is coming off more and more as Beth Lite. After the opening scene, we also know why she treats Juaquin so well.

So, Mariano took the hit for Buelah? Did he go to Mexico? He called her after the cattle incident and was rather short with him. And when Joaquin told her about Will Rob being in rehab, he asked her if she had told his father. She basically said he doesn't tell me how to run my ranch.

Also, wonder what is up with Azul and his wife/baby?

It HAS to happen, right?

I think Beulah said in an earlier episode, maybe telling Beth, that Joaquin's parents died in a flood.

I told myself that she is obviously a huge fan of classic country music and the party would be themed as such with a band playing Porter Waggoner, Hank Williams etc.which would have made the party much cooler.

Am I the only one who can't believe they still haven't addressed "Blank getting blanked in the back by the Blank" So far all that came out of it was a random fishing trip.

Yeah that whole subplot was strange. The show hasn't done a thing to explain how the sheriff escalated to shooting a goofball cowboy to death. In the small towns I know a guy like Dwight would be well known to the sheriff and everyone else as the town clown. That would've been like Sheriff Andy shooting Otis in the back.

My guess is that at some point Carter decides to stick with his family and Wade ends up going mining.

I really hope the show doesn't turn into Melrose Place on horseback. I would like to see Rip and Beth actually building a new ranching dynasty and less of the silly soap opera subplots.

I think the action is going to pick up with Will-Rob running the 10P

It was very Urban Cowboy-esque.

I do appreciate how they were able to completely dismiss the hundreds of miles between South Texas and Billy Bob's/Temu-Scott-Glenn's trailer for them to just hoof it back and forth.

Should have had them go to Gilley's.

That's what I said too. But Gilleys would have been too blue collar for the 10P vibe.
