I thought this movie was just dumb as ***** Bad dialogue. Incredibly stupid character decisions. It was tense at times, but then they tried to throw some slapstick in there that just didn't land. We talked the whole ride home about the number of things that happened in this movie that were just stupid. Not even worth listing.

I saw End of Oak Street today and thought it was awesome. It was like Twilight Zone meets Land of the Lost and it was a lot of fun with dinosaurs that weren't Jurassic park. Had some creepy moments too but it kept reminding me of the 70's land of the lost. It also reminded me of all the fun B-movies I grew up on with dinosaurs run amok with stop motion effects from Ray Harryhausen and others but this just had way better FX obviously lol and since Anne Hathaway was in it, it was a better acted B movie haha. Just a fun ride.

Legit surprised by the divisiveness but to each their own... but I thought this movie was a blast, and did exactly what it aimed to do perfectly. Couldn't care less about how they got back or Anne Hathaway calling and saving her husband and neighbors, as the movie hit the emotional beats perfectly, and nailed so many fun throwbacks to the 80's movies it was paying homage to.
Also if you watched this movie, after watching an extremely similar movie - The Last House - on Netflix, like I did... you'd appreciate it even more, as that is one of the worst movies I've ever seen. This is Citizen Kane compared to that.

Thank you for reaching out for clarification. My original point was that I did not see how this movie received the critical acclaim that some posters had observed due to continuity errors, horrible acting and changing accents from one of the top billed actors. I then stated that I would have liked a different song that more exclusively said "1982" than a top ten hit from 1987. I immediately hear the opening salvo in that song and the nostalgia takes me back to 1987 when the song was on the radio and not to the 1982 version and not to this 1982 timeline that they focused on. Once that happened fairly early in the movie, I began looking at this as a b movie and began noting all of the other issues that made this move less enjoyable.
It bewilders me that this is seen as one of the most unhinged opinions on this board when there are numerous posts that discuss casting choices of blue skinned super heroes and why is E Page in a Nolan movie. THAT is unhinged and miserable.
I saw Paw Patrol over the weekend and it was far and away a better dinosaur movie than this atrocity.

GF and I saw it Friday. I was entertained but thought it could have been much better.
Saw it matinee over the weekend. Fun summer flick. Most unbelievable part of the movie is Anne Hathaway having two kids and looking THAT damn good. Gracious me
Audibly laughed out loud when homie fell off the roof by missing the orb. He was also 0/13 with hitting anything with an arrow.
During Ewan death scene, I remember watching him get his leg chomped and briefly thinking 'oh uh, how is he gonna get out of this one?' that got answered quickly. Wasn't expecting him or Anne to bite it

I had the same car in 1982 as the family has in the movie, a 1973 Dodge Coronet (mine was a shade of yellow). I think it was Urban Ag that mentioned *****y cars being in the movie, and that one definitely fit the bill. It had around 95k miles on it in 1984 and a rod got bent (for some reason). I got $50 for it from a junk yard.
