There was a gal that worked at a dry cleaners I used on SW Parkway who looked remarkably like Helena Christiansen. I asked her if she knew who that was or if she had seen that video.

She had no idea who Helena was or who Chris Isaak is.

I've talked to my kids about that. They've grown up with everything being out there in the open.

I had to explain that Elton John was married to a woman, so was Freddie Mercury. Hell Liberace kept his business on the down low, at least as far as middle America knew.

Straight dudes wore dresses, the other F-word was used in lyrics & gender bending was a thing.

It was a confusing time.
