Which is why the shame or impact of them being on the losing side was brought up. And not many see it that way. There is no real downside to Dunk getting killed for them, even quickly. It's just not that big of a plot hole, if at all.
Baelor advised them to use longer tilting lances in order to have a better chance of unhorsing Aerion's team. It would have worked if Dunk had been more experienced at jousting.M.C. Swag said:
Wow, I guess it was just good planning on their part to have him impaled in precisely the place that wouldn't insta kill him then!

Then, we'll come back ten years after that and do well, Egg the adult. So, it would be over the course of their lifetime. And mine too."

I feel like the feasibility of this could be challenging, but hell yes.

Gotcha, thanks. That gray hair ages a dude
That's one of my very few minor complaints with the show so far. Maekar looks older than Baelor.
In reality the actor who plays Maekar is 49 and the actor who plays Baelor is 48 so you've got a point although I think the grey hair of Baelor is supposed to age him up.
I didn't realize the actor who plays Maekar also played Ole Munch from the most recent season of Fargo, pretty memorable character from that season:

Maybe the headgear, but does Aerion look a little like Groot?
I Actually think Going the Distance is the better theme for this so I did it myself pic.twitter.com/jxxEAI2g8f

Same thing I thought!
The theme from Rocky is the "training" song.... Rocky running through the streets.
I think the best use of that song would be a montage of Egg training Ser Duncan's horse.
Imagine.
No music: The horse just standing around, taking a dump. Egg exasperated. All seems lost.
Suddenly, Egg yells, horse shakes his head. Paws the ears. Music kicks in, It's on.
Multiple angles of horse running, Egg yelling, etc. We all feel we could joust as the music crescendos.

I saw it speculated somewhere that Dunk actually dies when he initially falls to the ground and the gods of the seven brought him back because his cause was just.
Of course it ended up with the death of Baelor who would have been a great ruler of Westeros but this is why I argue that the fatal blow was after the horn sounded because it was out of the gods of seven hands at that point.
Either way just fantastic storytelling from Martin.
