September 5, a movie about the '72 Munich Olympic Terrorist Attack from the perspective of the ABC Sports crew covering it live as it unfolds, was pretty damn amazing. I had never heard a word about the movie and watched it tonight and was on the edge of my seat the whole time.
Almost the entire movie takes place in the control room and offices where they produced the live broadcast and it is pretty cool to see them putting together a live broadcast that 800 million people watched before the digital age. It must have been expensive to build a mockup of a studio with all of the old equipment.
Peter Saarsgard is Roone Arledge and I'm not sure who the actor that played Peter Jennings is. They spliced in actual tape of Jim McKay that was broadcast that day and Howard Cosell is in it but only audio.
Great pacing in the movie, very well done IMO.
