I only remember the last episode…
Honestly, the last episode was pretty nails.
Is this a series that can transcend time? I might watch it again.
Hmmm.. "transcend time" is a big statement. But the show does hold up pretty well because its a farily acurate historical document of a certian time, place, and people.

I like to watch now with my kids, now in MS and HS, and talk about how things were without cell phones, no cable, VCRs, and the events of the world, even though it is about 15 years before my time, yet there are certain emotions that the kids go through that are so relateable.

One of the best final episodes ever done.

We're in the middle of watching it with our 7th and 6th graders. They love it. The episodes are poignant.

What's crazy to me is how I always identified with Kevin (came out at the perfect time for me) but he really is a ***** at times. I wonder if that was by design or that Fred Savage had limited range.

The dad steals the show for me though. Absolutely classic role.

I'm a big fan of the Wonder Years, ever since I first saw it growing up in the 90s. Good memories watching with my dad. Can still remember him laughing so hard when Jack falls into the fishing hole as a prank.

Ive rewatched it a few times in the last 10-15 years and have always enjoyed it each time. Probably due for another rewatch now that I think of it. Something easy to wind down to before bed.

I will never get over Kevin making a pass at Topanga. Predator.
Just wait til you find out what he allegedly did in real life that got him kicked off The Wonder Years reboot as a director/exec producer.

It is a great rewatch with you kids, especially if you have a daughter or two. It is a very emotional driven series, and Fred's long eyelashes will get their attention.
But, it is a 1980's era sitcom prior to Seinfeld. Lots of "the more you know" kind of conclusions.

For me, I watched Stranger Things with my kids to teach them about my childhood. I think that Stranger Things captures the '80's well. Wonder Years was about the '70's.

And, I agree, one of the best final episodes ever done. No feel good Winnie and Kevin together forever aftermore. The feelings they had were real, but at some point, you have to grow up. But, it was worth it.

Nothing takes you back to the innocent times like "The Andy Griffith Show" and the "Wonder Years".
I've had the Andy Griffith tune as a ringtone for at least 15 years and it never fails to put a smile on someone's face when it goes off in public.

Yes, I am pretty sure that when I watched it the first time through, I thought the dad was a rigid old man that was a minor part of the show. Now as a dad, I watch the situations through the eyes of dad and now he doesn't seem so bad and a pretty big part of the show, but Kevin seems obnoxious at times now.

Everyone focuses on Winnie / Kevin when looking back on this series but as enter my late 40's with kids of my own the scenes of Kevin and his father hit hard. Especially since my dad has since passed away.

Dan Lauria is still alive.

Now, if you are talking about the character of Jack Arnold, that's another story.

Excellent show and very well written.

Fred Savage and I are both 48. When the show came out he was 13 and in 7th grade just as I was. My oldest boy is 13 in 7th grade and we started watching as a family…we also have twins who are 11.

It's amazing how the issues and interactions from 1968 are the same as 1988 and 2024. My kids love it and we watch 2 and sometimes 3 episodes at a time. We are on season 4.

i rewatched the series about 15 years ago and thought it was uncanny how they covered almost every situation from my childhood in the 80s/90s. the episode where the dad was scolding the daughter for staying out so late and forcing him to leave the porch light on all night...that one always sticks with me.

I was in love with Madeline. I think she was in two episodes(?).
She spoke French.

I was certain Kevin hit Winnie a few times off-camera, and that he never told us about it.

Dude. I couldn't for the life of me figure out why Kevin stayed with that head case Winnie when Madeline wanted him in the worst way. She was quite the babe.

About 2 years after we got married, my wife worked with a lady for a year or two that looked almost exactly like Madeline. That was...tough (for me). Quick story: like a lot of people my wife had known, this lady (I can't recall her name) would confide in my wife various things. She was happily married and, it appeared, had an abundant sex life with her husband! Seems like they had to take it easy on certain times of the month because he couldn't wear a condom -- he had a latex allergy! I heard other **** like this.

Anyway, back to the show. The thing that made it almost unwatchable, for me, was the theme or plot line: that Kevin didn't have the stones to take the next step on much of anything. It literally drove me insane and I couldn't watch a full episode.
