Remember watching this show as a kid with my family when it was originally on.

Currently watching all the episodes again with my kids on Disney+.

The thing that strikes me most upon rewatching them is Kevin was a punk, or as his brother called him a "butthead" or "scrote" all the time.
Wayne was right.

I always think of this show first when lamenting what current series have become. Probably inaccurate, but seemed like they had a new episode every week, practically all year long. And it was a network show that people actually wanted to watch.

Now, I can't name a single network show I'm interested in and every series worth watching is limited to 10 episodes (if we're lucky) that take two years to produce.

/rant over, sorry for the derail

I really do miss the old format. 22-26 new episodes Sep through May. A couple of breaks in between w reruns. Really gave you something to look forward to. I know that still exists with some network shows but it's just not the same now w so many streaming options and immediate satisfaction binge shows.

My memory is weird with this show…I remember watching it…and I remember the opening song extremely vividly….

And yet I can hardly remember a single specific episode that I watched….and I'm the person that can quote simpsons (S3 - S9), home improvement, and MASH perfectly….

Why can't I remember anything about this show????

I was in love with Madeline. I think she was in two episodes(?).
She spoke French.

I was certain Kevin hit Winnie a few times off-camera, and that he never told us about it.

Same. Think we watched close to every episode and remember very little of it.

Dad wanted a Mustang. Stayed conservative and got a boring sedan.
Neighbor gal who liked to garden with amazing tays hanging out.
Wanted color tv. Didn't get it.
Dad took Kevin to work one day.
Sister went off to be a hippy. Dad gave her his rucksack from Korean War.

That's about all I got.

And to the Ops point, Kevin was an unlikable character.

Great show. One of the all time great theme songs and soundtracks. For so long you couldn't watch the old episodes because of the music licensing issues with all the classic songs from the 60s/70s.

I'm on the same page about not remembering a ton of details about episodes. I think it's because I never really saw reruns of it.

One I do remember was Kevin agreeing to paint his teachers house. She was stunningly beautiful and he ends up getting in over his head. But it did a good job of telling what's it's like to be a boy just figuring out the sway a beautiful lady can have.

These are the only two episodes I remember, as well.

Also, I had no idea until a couple of weeks ago that David Schwimmer (Ross from "Friends") was in this. I guess not seeing many reruns has dulled all our memories.

I have no recall of Schwimmer either.

Honestly, the only really strong memory I have is that big sis was hot.

The show was set in 1968 during its first season in 1988, which would mean a remake today would be set in the olden days of…2005.

Yeah. I don't remember always being quite that reflective as a kid. Maybe at times.

Can kind of remember a couple episodes, like the one with the math teacher, but the original run was a long time ago.

Paul finally called him out on it when he told him he's never even been to a Jets game.

This is immediately where my mind went. I loved this show as a kid but my mom got way more put of it than I did. And yes, Olivia D'Abo FTW

My friends and I would do this bit where we would make up ridiculous wonder year narrator voice segments "and then in that moment , winni looked and Kevin and touched his wiener"

Agreed. It also allowed for good 'water-cooler' discussion throughout the week.

I remember watching as a kid in the early 90s and thinking "Is the narrator Marv or the divorced guy from City Slickers?"

This is pretty much every kid from the 80s and 90s. Ferris Bueller, Daniel LaRusso, Zach Morris. All jerks in hindsight.

Neither Ferris or Zack were jerks. Daniel San was.

Hmmm.. "transcend time" is a big statement. But the show does hold up pretty well because its a farily acurate historical document of a certian time, place, and people.

Other than the generation that grew up watching it, I don't really know anyone else that has seen it. Like younger generations.

Like others said, I grew up with it and yet I still can't really feel like I remember any of the episodes well.

Topanga was on Boy Meets world. Ben Savage (Fred's bro) was in that show. Fred savage guest starred once.
