The Ringer crew covered this on the podcast the other day, seemed fitting because I just did a rewatch of all three over the last month and forgot how damn good they were. They also haven't aged a bit. I didn't watch the first two until hearing about them when Midnight came out, but I remember really liking them back then. But when I rewatched them recently, especially after getting older, I realized how much I love these movies, especially Sunrise and Sunset. They capture something so relatable with relationships and the passage of time. They also make me feel incredibly nostalgic. It's rare for two people to carry a film, but Delpy and Hawke absolutely nail it.

Anyway, Linklater is the man, the Rewatchables did a great job on this one and I'm glad they covered it, and if you haven't caught any of the Before films in a while (or at all), they're due for a visit. And yes, Sunrise is a perfect movie.

I was kind of "meh" on the third one. The first two are absolutely fantastic.

I would like to re-visit all 3 again. Great concept.

Looking back, Before Sunrise probably couldn't get made in the present. There's almost no way that Jesse and Celine wouldn't exchange Instagram follows or something.

Great trilogy. I agree that the first two movies are nearly perfect. The third was good, but the first two movies are a hard act to follow.

The first one is one of my favorite movies ever.
I travelled a lot in my 20's, met a few women abroad (even went back and stayed with one for a bit), but never had that perfect connection the movie had. So for me it's part nostalgia, part impossible dream that came close but never truly happened, part remembrance of some of the sites, and it came out right as I was finishing living it.
I like the other 2 as well, but the first one will always hold a special place.

If anyone is interested, The Rewatchables crew did Sunset yesterday as a companion pieces to last week's episode. This movie is so damn good.

Love these movies
Space may be the final frontier, but it’s made in a Hollywood basement.
