If you are just going into the movie for eye candy, then yes you are absolutely right that it is a waste of time to discuss the small nuances of a film.
But if you go into the film looking for things that entertain and also stimulate your brain, whether that is accuracy of lore or character choices or cultural ties, then there could be areas that may please or displease a viewers experience.
Neither are bad, just a personal preference.
yep. I for one have zero interest in seeing movies about WWI and WWII that are modernized and gimmicky, especially with modern lingo, etc. I just couldn't have less interest in those types of films. Now, if you want to make a historically accurate WWII film, but make it more artsy....yeah, I can get into that.
I think a lot of us are annoyed too because this is Christopher Nolan we're talking about here. This isn't Michael Bay. We'll know soon, but I just had higher expectations for Nolan in putting out a quality product, and not one that bent the knee.
