Was that…****ing Travis Scott…giving a motivational speech in a scene ahead of the Trojan horse drop? Tell me that wasn't him. Watching the AFC Championship game right now and that ad just came on and, if it was him, I'm out on this movie. Nolan is washed up.

Are you really crying about Travis being in maybe a minute of this movie? Haha.

The benefit of the doubt this thread continues to NOT give basically our greatest blockbuster director is wild. It's just so nitpicky and performative.

Also, Scott and Nolan have worked together before, with Scott having provided the main single for Tenet, which made for one of the best (and most different) Nolan trailers of his career (below). Nolan clearly enjoyed the collaboration and trusts Scott for enough for The Odyssey, so I'm going to choose to do the same until proven otherwise...

Yes. What part of my post was unclear? This is Ed Sheeran in GOT-level unnecessary. That's all it takes.

Ah, yes. Tenet. A movie famously beloved by Nolan fans and detractors alike. That Tenet.

This is exactly what I'm talking about. The level of performative whining/sensitivity to what will surely amount to a glorified cameo is objectively ridiculous. Six months out, you're declaring that you're not going to watch the biggest movie of the year, from maybe the greatest blockbuster director of all time, because a popular black rapper is in it for a few minutes, if that? Seriously? Good Lord.

As opposed to some no-name actor playing the same (most likely insignificant) role?

What's the difference?

Well, that's basically 3/4 of the actual book, soooo yeah, that's correct.

Yes, but every theatrical take has always been from Odysseus's viewpoint alone

The difference is as far as I'm aware Ed Sheeran is not a giant sack of crap like Travis Scott.

Pretty bad taste to include him in anything even it's for one second.

I know absolutely nothing about Travis Scott. But what did people think about singers being cast in movies in the past? David Bowie was the title character in The Man Who Fell To Earth (1976). Then you get Sting portraying an important character in 1984's Dune. Obviously there was not social media back then, so maybe those castings would have generated similar backlash, but in retrospect, they did well enough with their roles.

I think the problem he has is that Travis Scott, on multiple occasions, has endangered the live of others with his antics at concerts, most notably the unforgivable way he acted at the Astroworld fiasco in Houston a few years back when you can hear the audience begging him to stop the show while people are being trampled to death and he still does nothing even when he clearly sees an ambulance trying to get through.

He's got 5-6 other incidents as well over the last decade of him causing or inciting violence in public. Altogether he's about 15 levels below Chris Brown level in terms of crappy human being status. .

I totally get that, and I'm not at all defending him as a person. I'm just saying that if we all decided to performatively declare that we're not going to watch certain movies based on the cameo appearances of morally depraved entertainers… there would be no more movies. Again, that's not to excuse their actions, it's just that I'm so tired of this board freaking out/being so damn negative over every little thing, especially when that little thing will have next to no impact on the final product as a whole.

If Travis Scott ruins both Wrestlemania and the Odyssey in a calendar year, that would be a generational run.
